- The total import-export turnover of all types of goods through Lang Son province's border gates in the first 10 months of 2025 (as of October 20) reached nearly 74 billion USD, an increase of more than 44% over the same period in 2024. This is the highest import-export turnover of goods through Lang Son province ever. To achieve this result, the Customs Branch of Region VI and related sectors of the province have synchronously and drastically implemented measures to attract businesses to conduct import-export activities through the province's border gates.
Attracting businesses to participate in import and export activities through the province not only helps the total import and export turnover grow but also contributes significantly to the task of collecting taxes from import and export activities of Lang Son province.
Import-export tax revenue and turnover increased sharply
According to a report by Huu Nghi International Border Gate Customs, in the first 10 months of 2025, the number of enterprises operating import and export of goods through Huu Nghi International Border Gate reached more than 3,500, an increase of more than 5% over the same period last year, of which nearly 1,500 new enterprises participated in import and export, accounting for more than 42% of the total number of enterprises operating import and export through this border gate.

Sharing about the solution to attract businesses to participate in import and export through the border gate, Ms. Ha Thi Kim Dung, Captain of the Customs Team of Huu Nghi International Border Gate, said: To attract more businesses to participate in import and export of goods through the border gate, the unit's leaders have directed professional departments to increase information exchange with customs clearance staff to grasp the situation, listen and remove difficulties.
The unit also arranges staff to guide businesses in carrying out procedures, receive feedback from businesses; for newly attracted businesses, the unit supports contacting warehouse businesses to create conditions for loading and unloading goods, parking locations for goods vehicles, assigning civil servants with solid expertise and experience to carry out customs procedures for businesses, guiding businesses in declaring border gate numbers... These methods have helped attract a large number of businesses to participate in importing and exporting goods through Huu Nghi international border gate.
In addition to Huu Nghi international border gate, the number of enterprises importing and exporting goods through other border gates of Lang Son province in the first 10 months of 2025 also increased sharply. This helped the total import-export turnover and import-export tax revenue of the first 10 months of 2025 to increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Specifically, from January 1, 2025 to October 20, 2025, 5,279 import-export enterprises made customs declarations at border gates, an increase of 34% over the same period in 2024. The total import-export turnover through Lang Son province reached nearly 74 billion USD, an increase of more than 44% over the same period in 2024; total import-export tax revenue was nearly 10,100 billion VND, an increase of 73% over the same period in 2024.
Ms. Do Thi Thu Huong, Head of Customs Operations Department, Customs Branch VI shared: In order to attract enterprises to participate in import and export through border gates, recently, customs at border gates under Customs Branch VI established and maintained a problem-solving team and a business reception team to receive and quickly handle problems of enterprises. In addition, the units also promoted administrative procedure reform, applied digital transformation, including deploying professional software to improve efficiency and quality of work processing. In addition, they regularly met and exchanged directly with enterprises to receive and overcome limitations to improve service quality, creating favorable conditions for import and export enterprises.
In addition to the customs sector, to attract import-export enterprises, since the beginning of 2025, the departments, branches and other forces of the province have also drastically and flexibly implemented measures to promote import-export activities. In particular, the departments, branches of the province and the forces at the border gates have regularly exchanged with the Chinese equivalent agencies to agree on measures to facilitate customs clearance of goods such as: shortening the time for goods inspection; increasing the time for customs clearance procedures at the border gates; agreeing to work on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays...
The solutions of the customs authority, relevant departments and units at the border gates of Lang Son province have gradually created trust in the business community operating in the field of import and export, thereby attracting many businesses to participate in import and export activities through Lang Son province.
Aiming for a new goal
In early 2025, Lang Son province set a target of 65 billion USD in import and export turnover of all types of goods through Lang Son province. Lang Son province has "reached" and surpassed this target. Not stopping there, in the last 2 months of 2025, Lang Son province continues to aim for a new target, which is the total turnover of all types of goods through Lang Son province reaching 90 billion USD or more.

Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, shared: To ensure the achievement of the target of import and export turnover through the area, especially the turnover of goods declared at the border customs of Lang Son province, with the role of state management in the field of import and export of goods, the Department of Industry and Trade will continue to coordinate with relevant departments, branches and forces of the province to carry out activities to promote trade promotion activities with China, thereby promoting the import and export of high-value goods through Lang Son province. In particular, continue to coordinate with the Department of Commerce of Guangxi, China in expanding the list of Vietnamese goods officially exported to the Chinese market to continue attracting Vietnamese import and export enterprises to export Vietnam's key export goods through border gates in the province.
Together with the Department of Industry and Trade, in the last two months of the year, the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son border gate economic zone will also continue to hold direct talks with the equivalent agency of Guangxi (China) to agree on solutions to remove obstacles between the two sides in handling procedures related to the inspection of goods, thereby helping to shorten the time for procedures and speed up customs clearance.
In addition to the above two agencies, the Customs Branch of Region VI will continue to focus on implementing a number of solutions to attract businesses to carry out import-export activities through the province's border gates.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan, Head of the Customs Branch of Region VI, said: In order to attract more businesses to import and export goods through the province's border gates, the leaders of the Branch are continuing to direct their subordinate units to focus on modernizing business processes to reduce customs procedures and shorten customs clearance time. At the same time, they are continuing to organize meetings with businesses operating in import and export activities in provinces and cities across the country to encourage more businesses to import and export goods through the province's border gates.
Not only the above agencies and units, implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, from now until the end of the year, the relevant departments, branches and sectors of the province continue to closely coordinate with enterprises participating in business activities to develop logistics services at the border economic zone to reduce costs incurred for import-export enterprises, attract more import-export enterprises to conduct import-export activities through the area...
It can be seen that, in the context of the world economy still facing many challenges, objective factors still affecting import and export activities of goods, the total import and export turnover of goods through the area in just the first 10 months of 2025 has reached nearly 74 billion USD, showing the efforts of all levels, sectors and forces of Lang Son province in attracting import and export enterprises. This is a bright spot in border trade activities of Lang Son province.
