In particular, the model of assigning party members to be in charge of disadvantaged households of the Border Guard (BĐBP) of Soc Trang has been seriously implemented in accordance with reality. Specifically, after 6 years (since October 2018), implementing the model of assigning party members of Border Guard Stations (BĐBP) to be in charge of households in the border areas, the Border Guard Command of Soc Trang province has coordinated with the Party Committees and People's Committees of 11 communes, wards and towns in the coastal border areas (KBG). Currently, there are 81 party members of the BĐBP participating in taking charge of 302 households, including more than 200 Khmer households, the rest are households in difficult circumstances and households with members who need to be reformed.

Major Soc Dung, Deputy Political Commissar of Lai Hoa Border Guard Station, said: The unit currently manages the area of Lai Hoa and Vinh Tan communes in Vinh Chau town. The Khmer ethnic minority households account for over 70% of the total, and economic conditions are still facing many difficulties.

After being assigned to be in charge of a disadvantaged household in the locality, individual party members learn about the circumstances of each household to have a suitable support plan. With the attention and guidance of the leader, along with the spirit of setting an example and responsibility of party members, the spirit of self-reliance of disadvantaged households has created positive changes in poverty reduction work, building a new cultural life in the border area.

The assigned party members have also proactively participated in building political bases in the coastal border areas, closely coordinating with local Party committees and authorities to consolidate the grassroots political system. The emulation movement "Soc Trang Border Guard joins hands to build new rural areas" has contributed to bringing 7 coastal border communes to new rural standards and 1 urban area to be recognized as civilized.

In addition to participating in grassroots party cell activities and taking charge of supporting disadvantaged households, party members also directly visit and encourage families with meritorious services on holidays and Tet.

Creating a solid position of people's hearts in the coastal border area

Another mark from the implementation of emulation movements of the Border Guard of Soc Trang province is that many creative and practical models and methods have emerged. In particular, units under the Border Guard have closely coordinated with local authorities and people, contributing to the completion of important criteria such as: building socio-economic infrastructure, transforming crop structure, improving education, health care for people, and mobilizing people to practice a new cultural lifestyle. At the same time, units have also actively built the grassroots political system, fought against social evils, maintained political security, social order and safety, and consolidated strong localities.

In the period of 2019 - 2024, the emulation movement to win of the Border Guard has seen many creative and effective ways of many outstanding collectives and individuals. These faces demonstrate absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland and the People, along with the Party's innovation cause. At the same time, they also demonstrate steadfast political will, intelligence and determination in firmly protecting national sovereignty and border security, contributing to further glorifying the tradition of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and the image of "Soldiers in green uniforms" in the new era.
