Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) and the Organizing Committee of V.League 2023/2024 sent an official dispatch requesting the VFF Disciplinary Board to consider handling the violations of Mr. Vu Tien Thanh. The coach of Hoang Anh Gia Lai club has continuously made offensive statements to referees and members of the tournament organizing committee recently.
According to VPF, coach Vu Tien Thanh violated clause 5, article 37 of the Professional Football Regulations and articles 45 and 66 of the regulations on discipline, behavior, offensive and provocative attitudes, and violations of speech and conduct in football activities.
VPF assessed that Mr. Vu Tien Thanh "took advantage of the post-match press conference to make statements in interviews with many contents unrelated to the match; in particular, he attacked and defamed the VFF organization, VPF and each individual VFF, more seriously, he had words that challenged disciplinary action for violating the statement".
VPF requested the VFF and the Disciplinary Board to take strict action against coach Vu Tien Thanh because this coach "repeatedly seriously violated" professional football regulations, tournament rules and VFF's disciplinary regulations.

Most recently, after HAGL lost to Ho Chi Minh City FC in round 21 of the V.League, coach Vu Tien Thanh criticized the referee, the organizers as well as VPF and VFF. Mr. Thanh specifically mentioned the names of some leaders of VFF, VPF and the referee.
"I think the Hanoi Police Club is right in writing the document. Referees making decisions like this are very frustrating. There must be a problem related to referee arrangement. When the Hanoi team played, two referees blew consecutively. Before that, the Thanh Hoa team also wrote a document. The two matches where the referees made mistakes were both related to Ho Chi Minh City," Mr. Vu Tien Thanh replied after the match between Ho Chi Minh City Club and HAGL.
The head coach of HAGL continued to criticize the organization of VPF when the teams had to play each match every 4 days. Mr. Vu Tien Thanh criticized 3 leaders in the Standing Committee of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation, while praising Mr. Duc and himself.
"Mr. Duc is so passionate about football that he still plays it. I am a coach but it is also very tiring. VFF is a professional organization, without a profession, how can it work?
We are so passionate about football that we still follow it, but we have to accept living with it. I find it difficult to find people like me, so I still accept the game. What if the national team loses in a few days? V.League will not gain anything. VPF needs to help the teams, otherwise the future of football will remain the same," said Mr. Thanh.
