Developing Vietnamese AI on the international AI platform

A Vietnamese artificial intelligence (AI) technology application named DrAid has been developed by VinBrain Company (under Vingroup Corporation) based on Microsoft's AI platforms and tools.

It is a platform that supports doctors in the image diagnosis stage, acting as a second professional assistant. This medical AI application has been used by nearly 2,000 doctors at more than 100 hospitals such as 108, 199, Hai Phong Lung, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy... Up to now, DrAid has demonstrated outstanding performance by contributing to saving 80%-85% of initial screening time, reducing the time to read cases such as liver cancer from 30 minutes/case to only 5 minutes/case.

According to Dr. Ngo Minh Tri, working at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at Hue Central Hospital, with the solution line being applied to screen and detect liver cancer, DrAid CT Liver Cancer, the application of science and technology to paraclinical work helps increase the accuracy of tumor detection and localization. Dr. Tri also shared that DrAid not only reduces resources and costs for the hospital, but doctors also have more time to interact with patients and are more confident when reading difficult imaging cases.

DrAid is the first AI platform in Vietnam to support doctors in comprehensive screening of chest X-rays, abdominal CT; cancer diagnosis and treatment, screening for diseases of the century such as tuberculosis, congenital hemolytic anemia... and hospital management. DrAid helps improve the efficiency of the imaging diagnostic process by prioritizing the flow of normal and abnormal cases, thereby saving 30% of the time for doctors to read images.
