Awareness of the role of culture and the responsibility to build a strong culture is not only at all levels of government but also spreads strongly in the community. In the 2020-2025 term, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has gone into depth, becoming an indispensable part in the process of building new rural areas and civilized urban areas in Bao Yen district. Notably, more than 90% of households and more than 92% of villages, hamlets and residential groups have achieved the title of culture, exceeding the target set at the congress.
Not only stopping at initial achievements, Bao Yen district also pays special attention to solving long-standing social problems such as early marriage, consanguineous marriage, gender inequality and domestic violence. These works not only help protect the rights of each individual but also contribute to building a civilized, safe community towards sustainable development.
According to the leaders of Bao Yen district, in recent years, cultural and sports institutions in the district have received attention for investment, construction and strong development. This includes the combination of socialized resources and the state budget, and the result is that 58.2% of cultural houses in villages, hamlets and residential groups have been newly built, repaired and upgraded. Specifically, 50 cultural houses have been newly built, 70 houses have been upgraded, and 132 sets of audio equipment have been equipped, creating favorable conditions for cultural and sports activities, as well as information and propaganda work in the community.
In addition, the preservation, restoration and promotion of traditional cultural heritages is one of the tasks that Bao Yen district pays special attention to. Intangible cultural heritages have been collected and restored, and the restoration and embellishment of historical relics and scenic spots have been carried out with attention, contributing to the protection of local cultural values. According to statistics, Bao Yen district has 11 recognized relics and scenic spots, including one national intangible cultural heritage and two provincial tourist attractions. This not only preserves cultural values but also creates opportunities for tourism development, boosting the local economy .
Villages, hamlets, and residential groups have continuously maintained and expanded models and self-management movements on environmental protection, maintaining security and order, traffic safety, and crime prevention. Mass sports and cultural activities have been organized enthusiastically and regularly, creating a healthy and cohesive social environment, attracting a large number of people to participate, especially through activities associated with traditional festivals. Currently, more than 40% of the district's population participates in regular sports training, improving health and solidarity in the community. Notably, a number of athletes from the district have been selected for the provincial team and achieved high results in regional competitions.
Along with that, Bao Yen district has also focused on developing multimedia and social media platforms. Information control on cyberspace has been strongly implemented to prevent fake news, ensure the accuracy of information, thereby creating consensus in the community.
With the right steps in cultural development, Bao Yen district is opening up new prospects, not only in economic development but also contributing to preserving and promoting national cultural identity, creating a united community and sustainable development.
