Sharing at the event, director Mai Phuong - who also took on the role of scriptwriter as well as character designer for the film, said that although she had reviewed the film many times, she came to the premiere with the mindset of an audience member.

Voiceover director Vo Huyen Chi feels proud that after 20 years of working, she has the opportunity to participate in a 100% Vietnamese animated film with thorough investment in images, music , sound, dubbing and other post-production stages.

Cricket: The Adventure to the Swamp is inspired by the famous original work of writer To Hoai but is given a modern message such as environmental protection, friendship, sharing and the spirit of overcoming difficulties.

Talking about the reason for not adapting but only "taking inspiration" from this classic work, director Mai Phuong said that the original work was written by the author in chapters and had a long duration. With the framework of a cinematic work, if adapted, the audience would have difficulty feeling all that the author wanted to convey in the original work.

Besides, due to the generation gap, she and her crew decided to put those characters in the modern social context of the 21st century to approach young people closely.

According to producer Vu Duy Nam, the film was conceptualized and prepared 10 years ago. Of which, the official production time lasted about 2.5 years. When asked about the budget, he said it was difficult to give an exact figure because the film went through many different stages.

Notably, this is the first film to be produced under the model of close cooperation between enterprises - the state - schools. According to the disclosure, the film has the participation of hundreds of students from Thai Nguyen University of Information Technology and Communications (ICTU) in many different stages.

Cricket: The Adventure to the Swamp Village revolves around two brothers, Cricket Men and Cricket Trui, and their adventure to the Swamp Village - an area that used to be a lush green field, now turned into a garbage dump. Here, they meet many new species of insects such as Whiskers, Cockroaches, Baby Ladybugs, and King Ech Com - the self-proclaimed "boss" of the village. The two brothers, Cricket Men, must face many challenges and fierce battles from the dark plot of Ech Com, in order to protect the peace of the insect community.
