Vietnamese cinema enters the new month with 4 projects, each with a different style: "Borrowed Shell , " "Ghost House," " Uncle Hoa's Mansion ," and "Mesdames of the Blue and White ." These films show a clear effort from producers in finding fresh themes, from cultural material to the scale of reconstruction.

Following early screenings, The Haunted Shell has moved its release date forward to June 1st. The film's strength lies in its serious and introspective narrative about complex marital relationships, as well as the schemes and manipulations of people in life.
The film's strength lies in its fresh cast. Instead of relying entirely on familiar names, the team introduced new talents, including Yen Dan and Nguyen Van Chung. In addition, the film features a group of actors with attractive appearances, suitable for an audience aged 18-30, such as Quoc Truong, Tieu Vy, and Anh Pham.

In terms of acting, "Ma Xó" could be a breakthrough project for Tín Nguyễn. Over the past time, transitioning from a social media content creator to an actress, she has made her mark in films such as "Lật Mặt 7: Một Điều Ước ," "Thám Tử Kiên: Kỳ Án Không Đầu ," and "Phá Đám: Sinh Nhật Mẹ ."
The film "Ma Xó," scheduled for release in theaters on June 5, 2026, features young actors Avin Lu and Nguyen Sy Hau alongside veteran actresses Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy and Le Khanh. Directed by Phan Ba Hy, the film explores Vietnamese folk beliefs such as traditional altars, spiritual rituals, funerals, burials, and ancestor worship customs. Prior to its release in Vietnam, "Ma Xó" was selected for adaptation in the United States, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia.
Uncle Hoa's Mansion : A New Stage Element
Among the Vietnamese films this month, "Uncle Hoa's Mansion" is the most intriguing project. The film explores the legend associated with Uncle Hoa's mansion – one of the famous buildings of old Saigon that still stands today in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.

While Lầu chú Hỏa (The Fire Pavilion) gambled on novelty, Mesdames Thanh Sắc (The Beauty of the City) chose the opposite approach by featuring experienced names. Thanh Hằng, Hồng Ánh, and Lương Thế Thành are all established figures in the hearts of the audience.
Thanh Hằng has a physical advantage as an actress. Hồng Ánh is a guarantee of acting depth and the ability to embody complex characters. Meanwhile, Lương Thế Thành possesses a stable audience across both television and film.
