Many exciting and meaningful activities
- As a unit that organizes activities, develops youth and children's movements; cares for andeducates teenagers and children in the city, can you share about the outstanding activities in the work of the Young Pioneers and the youth and children's movements in the capital in the 2024-2025 school year?
- With the theme "Children of the Capital obey Uncle Ho's teachings - Proud of the tradition of following in the footsteps of their ancestors", the work of the Pioneers and the youth and children's movement of the Capital in the 2024-2025 school year are deployed extensively, effectively, creatively and attractively.
Children are educated about ethics, healthy and thrifty lifestyles; they learn about gratitude and sharing through movements such as: "Tran Quoc Toan", "Small Plan", "Thousands of Good Deeds", "Lighting up the Dreams of Children in the Capital", "Uncle Ho's Good Children - Owners of Thang Long", "Children of the Heroic Capital - Building a City for Peace ". In the trend of globalization and international integration, the City's Youth Union has paid attention to updating new issues for children, such as: Skills to participate in a safe online environment; practicing life skills, life values; social practice skills... In addition, the training and fostering of skills to prevent accidents, injuries, child abuse and violence for children has always been creatively and attractively implemented by the Youth Union at all levels, attracting a large number of children to participate.
According to incomplete statistics, in the 2024-2025 school year, nearly 1 million children participated in activities to visit red addresses; more than 34,000 children in difficult circumstances were supported and helped; 100% of districts, towns and cities upgraded, renovated and built new activity and play areas, "Friendly toilets". In addition, the "Friendly waste sorting house" project was designed in the premises of 1,381 teams. More than 900,000 children participated in activities to educate skills to prevent and combat accidents, injuries, child abuse and violence; more than 800,000 children participated in propaganda activities on the Law on Children and the Law on Cyber Security.
- The Team work plays a very important role in educating and training ethics for team members, teenagers, and children. Could you tell us more about this activity?
- The Young Pioneers is the core organization in children's movements, so the work of the Pioneers always plays an extremely important role, especially in educating and training students' ethics, so that they can grow up and become useful people for society.
Currently, the network of activities of the Team has developed widely from the city to the grassroots with more than 1,300 teams, more than 1.3 million team members, teenagers and children. The work of educating ethics, lifestyle and culture for children has been focused on by the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union - City Team Council through many campaigns and activities such as: "Healthy Children - Stepping Up to the Union" Festival; effectively implementing playgrounds and competitions according to the program "Vietnamese Children - Study well, practice hard" for primary school students and "Vietnamese Youth - Cultivating virtue and talent" for secondary school students...
In addition, the movement “Children of the Capital compete to follow Uncle Ho’s 5 teachings” has been widely deployed, associated with education on traditions, ethics, lifestyle and social practice skills. The children’s forum “Good words - Good deeds - Civilized behavior” has contributed to building a model of children of the Capital who speak good words, do good deeds, behave civilly, etc. These meaningful and practical activities have had a great impact, contributing to the formation of personality, education, moral training, guiding children to live beautifully and usefully.

- Dear comrade, accompanying children on their journey of training and development, how do the Youth Union and Association carry out activities to protect, care for and educate children?
- The Hanoi City Young Pioneers Council has been implementing many practical and meaningful activities to accompany children in their journey of training and development. With the motto "All for beloved juniors", the City Youth Union and the City Young Pioneers Council have developed plans and organized activities to care for, protect and educate children; innovated the content and methods of operation of the Young Pioneers Council system at all levels, cared for and fostered professional skills for Young Pioneers in charge; regularly organized and guided young Pioneers, teenagers and children to study and play healthily, contributing to meeting their legitimate needs, helping them practice morality and personality, and develop comprehensively in morality, intelligence, physical fitness and aesthetics.
One of the contents that the City Youth Union and Association at all levels focus on is educating and raising awareness and skills to prevent abuse and drowning of children. The whole city organized swimming lessons for more than 2,000 children in difficult circumstances; 100% of districts, towns and cities organized propaganda on the Law on Children, the Law on Drug Prevention and Control; preventing drowning and injuries. Since the beginning of 2025, the City Youth Union and the Youth Union at all levels of the Capital have supported more than 27,000 children in difficult circumstances; the city alone has built 8 "Red Scarf Houses" and "children's playgrounds".
Through the practical activities mentioned above, the Youth Union and Association at all levels have demonstrated their pioneering role in accompanying, protecting, caring for and educating children. These efforts not only help the community become more aware of their responsibility towards children, but also bring children attention and encouragement so that they can confidently rise up. Thereby, they contribute significantly to building a comprehensive, safe and healthy development environment for children.
- This summer, what are the key activities of the Youth Union - City Council for children, sir?
- Caring for and educating children is a core and regular task of the Youth Union and Young Pioneers. During the summer, this work is even more focused. This summer, the City Youth Union directed all levels of the Youth Union and Association to continue to focus on organizing guidance and equipping children with digital knowledge and skills; activities to educate life skills, accident and injury prevention skills, and abuse prevention; self-defense skills, first aid skills; sex education, reproductive health for adolescents... Currently, the work of welcoming students to summer activities is being carefully prepared by districts, towns, and city unions to ensure that 100% of children can participate in summer activities, with the top priority being to ensure a safe, joyful, and rewarding summer. Some localities such as Thanh Tri, Dong Da, Thanh Oai... have implemented free swimming classes for children; organized meaningful playgrounds. At the same time, the Association at all levels continues to mobilize and connect social resources to build activity and entertainment venues for children; help and support children in difficult circumstances... In addition, to help children have a rewarding summer, facilities organize summer activities, open swimming classes, teach English, soccer, volleyball at cultural houses of villages and residential groups in the area...
With the spirit of "All for beloved juniors", the city's Youth Union chapters continue to maintain and promote activities to better carry out the work of caring for and educating the future young buds of the country. The Youth Union - Pioneer Councils at all levels in the city continue to register and undertake practical models and activities for children such as: "Military semester" model, "Skills experience", "Weekend playground", "Swimming universalization program", "Teaching and reviewing foreign languages for children" ...; at the same time, strengthen socialization, coordinate the construction of community living spaces, playgrounds, children's libraries, and physical education areas in residential areas. At the same time, continue to launch emulation movements associated with activities to celebrate major holidays of the capital and the country, helping children compete in studying, practicing, promoting their talents and creativity, striving to become good children, good students, and good grandchildren of Uncle Ho.
