Vice Chairman of Hanoi directed to clarify the case of food entering schools in Hanoi with bad smell.

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha requested Binh Minh Commune People's Committee to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to inspect and clarify information about unsafe food in meals at Cu Khe Primary School.

Regarding the information reflecting that food with a rancid smell was brought into the canteen of Cu Khe Primary School, on October 16, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha directed the People's Committee of Binh Minh Commune to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to inspect and clarify. Vice Chairman Vu Thu Ha also requested to strictly handle violations (if any) and report to the City People's Committee before October 18.

Previously, many parent groups of Cu Khe Primary School (Hanoi) were buzzing with information about the food source provided to the school's canteen that did not meet the requirements after the school's food receiving supervision session took place on the morning of October 15. Specifically, the information given was that through supervision, quail eggs were peeled and some of the meat on the transport vehicle had an odor.

Regarding this issue, the Chairman of Binh Minh Commune People's Committee said that immediately after receiving the information, Binh Minh Commune People's Committee requested functional departments and offices to work with Cu Khe Primary School to grasp the situation.

At the meeting, the representative of Nhat Anh Trading and Service Company Limited - the food supplier admitted shortcomings in the food receiving and transportation process. The transport vehicle did not meet the insulation standards and the food (eggs, meat) was not vacuum-packed as required.

Also at the meeting, the leader of the Department of Culture and Society of Binh Minh Commune requested Nhat Anh Company to stop the food supply contract with the old supplier (Canh Nau Cooperative) and find another supplier to ensure food safety. At the same time, replace kitchen utensils to ensure food hygiene and safety. In addition, Cu Khe Primary School was required to strengthen management and supervision, properly implement food hygiene and safety procedures; organize training on food safety knowledge for staff and employees of the boarding kitchen.
