District Vice Chairman was dismissed due to having over 50% low confidence votes

With over 50% of the votes of confidence being low, Mr. Pham Hong Son, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Ky district ( Nghe An ) was voted by the People's Council to be dismissed from his position.

According to research, on January 16, the People's Council of Tan Ky district, term XIX, 2021-2026, held the 10th session, a thematic session to carry out a number of contents under its authority.

Based on the results of the vote of confidence at the 9th session (taking place on December 14-15, 2023), Mr. Pham Hong Son - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee and Mr. Le Viet Quy - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tan Ky district had more than 1/2 to less than 2/3 of the total number of votes of low confidence, but did not resign.

The delegates voted for two people holding positions elected by the 19th District People's Council for the 2021-2026 term. According to regulations, these cases must be voted on in step 2, with two types of votes of confidence and no confidence. As a result, Mr. Pham Hong Son and Mr. Le Viet Quy had more than half of the total votes of no confidence.

Specifically, Mr. Son had 23 out of 33 votes of no confidence. Mr. Quy had 22 votes of no confidence out of 33 delegates participating in the vote.

With the above results, Tan Ky District People's Committee approved the proposal to dismiss Mr. Pham Hong Son from the position of Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee and the proposal to dismiss Mr. Le Viet Quy, Head of the District Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, from the position of Member of the 19th District People's Committee, term 2021-2026.

The meeting adopted draft resolutions on relevant contents and voted unanimously on the contents of the resolutions.

Previously, on December 11, 2023, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission held its 20th session to consider disciplinary action against Mr. Pham Hong Son, member of the District Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Tan Ky District People's Committee.

Mr. Son violated regulations on what party members are not allowed to do, regulations on the responsibility of setting an example for cadres and party members in implementing Party regulations and State laws on denunciation.

The Nghe An Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission concluded that Mr. Pham Hong Son's violations had negatively affected his own reputation and that of the Party organization and the agency where he worked, to the point that disciplinary action must be considered and taken.

Based on the content, nature, level, consequences, causes of violations and Party regulations, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission decided to discipline Mr. Pham Hong Son with a reprimand.

Mr. Pham Hong Son was elected Vice Chairman of Tan Ky District People's Committee on October 20, 2020. Previously, Mr. Son held the position of Head of Finance - Planning Department of Tan Ky District.
