Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Sinh works with Sin Quyen Copper Mine Branch, Lao Cai - Vimico

In order to remove difficulties and obstacles for industrial projects of mineral exploitation and processing in the area, on the morning of May 9, the provincial working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sinh, Vice Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, worked with the Sin Quyen Copper Mine Branch, Lao Cai - Vimico. The working delegation included leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Provincial Economic Zone Management Board; and leaders of Bat Xat district.

At the meeting, the Sin Quyen Copper Mine Branch, Lao Cai - Vimico reported to the working delegation about the difficulties and obstacles such as: The Vi Kem copper mine exploitation project in Coc My commune, Bat Xat district, the area that needs to be cleared is 16.61 hectares, with 67 households and 1 organization having to compensate, up to now there are 9 households with an area of 0.6 hectares in the process of implementation. The project to expand and increase the capacity of the Sin Quyen copper mine, Lao Cai (adjusted), the total area that needs to be cleared is about 238.96 hectares, compensation is made for 346 households and 1 organization, up to now there are still 11 households with a total area of about 10.8 hectares in the process of implementation. The unit requested the province and district to direct the removal of difficulties for the branch to ensure the exploitation plan, serving the processing factories in the area.

At the meeting, leaders of departments and branches requested the Sin Quyen Copper Mine Branch, Lao Cai - Vimico to soon complete the adjustment of the project policy; develop a plan to provide sufficient raw materials for the factories to operate. Concluding the working session, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Sinh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested departments, branches and Bat Xat district to carry out site clearance work in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the 2024 Land Law, other relevant legal provisions and regulations of the province; must ensure the legitimate rights and interests of the State, enterprises and people, especially organizations and individuals whose land is recovered; determined not to let the Sin Quyen Copper Mine Branch, Lao Cai - Vimico have to temporarily stop mining.

Localities need to proactively detect and promptly resolve existing problems and obstacles in the process of site clearance in accordance with their functions and authority; resolutely handle manifestations of avoidance and shirking of responsibility; promptly report and propose to the Provincial People's Committee, functional departments and branches of the province to direct and remove difficulties and obstacles beyond their authority.
