Ho Chi Minh City 10th grade exam score distribution: More than 28,000 candidates below average in Math

This morning, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced the score distribution of 3 subjects in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, including 28,000 candidates below average in Math.

This year, 36 candidates achieved perfect scores in Math, up from 49 last year. About 63% of the test scores were above average, with a common score of 7 achieved by more than 4,500 students. However, this subject also recorded more than 28,000 candidates scoring below 5 points.

In previous years, the Math exam in Ho Chi Minh City made many candidates cry, with the percentage of candidates scoring below 5 points being over 50%.

In Literature, the score range is concentrated in the 5 - 7.5 range, similar to last year, with two exams scoring 9.5. From 9 points and above, 203 candidates achieved. The most achieved mark was 7 with nearly 6,000 exams. About 15% of exams were below average.

Meanwhile, about 31.5% of the English test scores were below average. The average score range for candidates was between 5.75 and 8.25 points. The number of tests with perfect scores was 488, about one-third of last year's (1,700).

However, the number of candidates taking the 10th grade exam this year is more than 76,000, a decrease of about 27,000 candidates.

The 10th grade exam in Ho Chi Minh City this year took place on June 6 and 7, with more than 75,000 candidates registering for the exam, a decrease of 27,000 students compared to last year. This year, 115 public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City recruited 70,070 students for grade 10.

In the past three years, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School (Tan Binh District) has always had the highest 10th grade entrance score in Ho Chi Minh City, with 24 points or more. Following are Nguyen Huu Huan High School (Thu Duc City), Gia Dinh (Binh Thanh District), Nguyen Thi Minh Khai (District 3), Phu Nhuan (Phu Nhuan District)... with the benchmark score always above 22.
