On the occasion of attending the 21st China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) held in Nanning City, Guangxi, on September 23, Deputy Prime Minister Hu Defeng met with Comrade Liu Ning, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc expressed his pleasure in leading the Vietnamese Government delegation to attend the opening ceremony of the 21st CAEXPO and CABIS Conference; emphasizing that Vietnam consistently attaches importance to the friendly neighborly relations and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with China, supports the traditional relations between Guangxi and Vietnamese localities; believes that Guangxi will successfully organize the 21st CAEXPO, contributing to promoting practical cooperation between ASEAN and China. The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated and congratulated the great development achievements in all aspects that the Party Committee, government and people of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have achieved in recent years; thanked Guangxi for its good friendship and the spirit of "sharing the joys and sorrows" with Vietnamese localities, and expressed deep sympathy for the losses suffered by Guangxi and Chinese localities during the recent floods.
Warmly welcoming Deputy Prime Minister Hu Defeng and the Vietnamese delegation to Guangxi, Secretary of the Regional Party Committee Liu Ning expressed his sincere thanks for the active support of the Vietnamese Government for the CAEXPO Fair and the CABIS Conference held annually in Nanning; once again thanked the Vietnamese side for the warm, thoughtful and respectful reception for the Guangxi Regional Party Committee Secretariat delegation during their visit to Vietnam at the end of August; emphasized that, as close neighbors, Guangxi always attaches importance to enhancing friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation with Vietnamese localities and ministries.
Secretary Liu Ning sincerely sent his condolences to the people of Vietnamese localities affected by Typhoon Yagi and recent floods; and said that Guangxi will provide support to some Vietnamese localities in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Regarding bilateral cooperation, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc suggested that Guangxi and Vietnamese localities actively implement the common perception of the two countries' senior leaders and the results achieved during the recent visit to Vietnam by the Guangxi Party Secretary; enhance friendly exchanges between the Party Committees, local authorities and people's organizations of the two sides; continue to promote the effectiveness of the Spring Meeting program and the mechanism of the Joint Working Committee Conference between Guangxi and the Vietnamese provinces of Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Lang Son and Quang Ninh; promote substantive cooperation in all fields, making cooperation between the two sides develop faster, stronger, higher and more sustainably.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized a number of cooperation focuses: promoting connectivity between railways, roads, sea and air transport; accelerating the construction of pilot smart border gates to facilitate trade between the two countries and in the region; welcoming capable enterprises of Guangxi to expand high-quality investment in Vietnam, increasing the import of strong goods, especially agricultural and aquatic products and fruits from Vietnam. He proposed that the two sides continue to closely coordinate in border management according to the three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border, promptly coordinate to satisfactorily resolve arising incidents; strengthen cooperation in immigration management, and prevent cross-border crimes; promote upgrading and opening new pairs of border gates and border crossings that the two sides have agreed upon.
Expressing his gratitude for the important guidance of Deputy Prime Minister Hu Defeng, Secretary of the Guangxi Party Committee Liu Ning affirmed that the Party Committee, government and people of Guangxi will thoroughly and effectively implement the high-level common understanding and the Joint Statement during the recent mutual visits of the two countries' senior leaders; continue to promote friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities to develop more strongly, deeply and comprehensively; and actively contribute to promoting the building of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
On the same afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc and the delegation visited the China-ASEAN Information Port in Nanning city./.
