TPO - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 926/QD-TTg on the establishment of the Appraisal Council for the Project to establish Hue city under the central government.
According to Decision 926/QD-TTg, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh was assigned as Chairman of the Council for Appraisal of the Project to establish Hue City under the Central Government, and Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra as Vice Chairman of the Council. The Council members are representatives of the Government Office and the Ministries of Home Affairs; Construction; Planning and Investment; Natural Resources and Environment; Justice; Transport; National Defense; Public Security; Finance; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; Health; Education and Training; Industry and Trade; Agriculture and Rural Development.
Decision 926/QD-TTg clearly states that the Appraisal Council operates part-time and will dissolve itself after the Project to establish Hue City under the Central Government is approved by the Government. The Ministry of Home Affairs is the Standing Body of the Council, synthesizing and drafting the appraisal results of the Council to ensure compliance with the provisions of law, and reporting to the Chairman of the Council. The operating budget of the Appraisal Council is provided by the state budget, arranged in the regular expenditure estimate of the Ministry of Home Affairs and managed and used in accordance with the provisions of the law on the state budget and other relevant legal documents. Previously, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 924/QD-TTg recognizing the area of Thua Thien Hue province planned to establish a centrally-run city that meets the criteria for a type I urban area. The scope of urban classification assessment is the entire existing administrative boundary of Thua Thien Hue province with a natural area of 4,947.11 km2. The inner city area is the area planned to establish 02 districts under the Central city, including the entire existing administrative boundary of Hue city, with a total natural area of 266.46 km2. According to Resolution No. 54 of the Politburo as well as the planning decisions of the Prime Minister, by 2025 Thua Thien Hue will become a city under the Central Government; the urban model is expected to have 9 administrative units including 2 districts, 3 towns and 4 districts.
