Appreciating the role of the Mekong-Lancang International Energy Company in the international cooperation activities of the China Southern Power Grid Corporation, the Deputy Prime Minister said that promoting the connection of transport, energy and telecommunications infrastructure will complement, effectively exploit and further promote the potential and strengths between localities of Vietnam and China, as well as the two countries in economic , trade and investment activities.
The Deputy Prime Minister discussed the energy needs of the northern provinces of Vietnam, saying that this is an opportunity for Mekong-Lancang International Energy Company to learn and propose specific projects to the governments of the two countries, so that businesses of the two countries can cooperate stably, sustainably, and harmonize interests.
"The Vietnamese Government welcomes businesses with effective policies, technologies, solutions, and investment projects in the field of green energy such as wind power, solar power, and pumped storage hydropower," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Thanking the Deputy Prime Minister for taking the time to meet him, Mr. Cam Lam, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mekong - Lancang International Energy Company, reported on some outstanding results of the enterprise's activities in developing the power grid connecting China with countries in the Mekong - Lancang River basin, as well as projects and cooperation programs implemented in Vietnam.
In the coming time, the leaders of Mekong - Lancang International Energy Company expressed their desire to continue promoting new grid connection projects between the two countries; expanding the scale of electricity transactions between the two sides; expanding cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and clean energy; enhancing exchanges and technical training in monitoring and operating smart and safe power grids.

The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed his support for Mekong-Lancang International Energy Company’s projects with Vietnamese enterprises in connecting to the power grid, buying and selling electricity, converting electricity projects using fossil fuels to green and clean fuels; especially the new direction from pumped storage hydropower to expand renewable energy.
In addition, during the cooperation process, the Company needs to have a technology transfer plan; promote industrial parks in the Vietnam - China border area to further promote the efficiency of the connected power grids.
Mekong - Lancang International Energy Company can also proactively contribute proposals to improve mechanisms and policies in the field of clean and renewable energy for the Vietnamese Government.
"In the development process, businesses need to take into account the overall benefits of the environment, climate change, water resource sharing, information sharing, etc. so that development does not harm the sustainability of the Mekong - Lancang River," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

Receiving Mr. Tran Trong, Deputy General Director of China Communications Construction Corporation (CCCC), the Deputy Prime Minister assessed that this is a prestigious enterprise in China and in the world.
Noting that Vietnam is focusing on strongly developing infrastructure for roads, railways, aviation, seaports, etc., the Deputy Prime Minister said that CCCC is fully capable of participating in the construction of key infrastructure projects connecting Vietnam and China.
Regarding the North-South high-speed railway project, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the State will play a leading role, but enterprises directly involved in the implementation, during the construction process, must implement a roadmap for transferring and mastering railway technology and industry to Vietnamese enterprises according to the market, based on commercial contracts, with clear commitments according to the law, together continuing to build transport infrastructure works.

In addition, with its technical capacity and reputation that has been affirmed in the value chain of the railway industry (consulting, technical design, construction, operation, etc.), CCCC wishes to participate in high-speed railway and urban railway projects in Vietnam.
