(Chinhphu.vn) - On the afternoon of June 19, on the occasion of attending the 9th China-South Asia Expo and the 29th Kunming Import-Export Fair in Yunnan, China, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha met with Lao Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha congratulated the positive results that the Lao Party, State and people have achieved in recent times; expressed his appreciation for the Vietnam-Laos relationship, and affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State consistently give the highest priority to the special and rare solidarity relationship with Laos and always strongly and comprehensively support Laos's innovation and development.

The Deputy Prime Minister discussed measures to promote cooperation, implement high-level agreements, as well as the results of the 47th meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of the two countries.

Lao Deputy Prime Minister Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune agreed with the assessment of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; at the same time, he emphasized that Laos attaches special importance to its relationship with Vietnam, always striving to foster and develop the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam to continue to develop sustainably and increasingly in depth; he emphasized that the high-ranking leaders of the two countries regularly maintain contact and exchange, as well as Vietnam creating conditions for Laos to use Vung Ang port... demonstrating the close comradely and brotherly affection and the tradition of mutual love between the two peoples.

The two Deputy Prime Ministers emphasized that ministries, sectors and localities of the two countries have been actively coordinating and making efforts to remove difficulties; a number of key cooperation projects have made positive progress.

The two sides agreed to continue directing ministries, branches and localities of the two countries to focus on effectively implementing high-level agreements, cooperation programs between the two Parties, the two countries and bilateral mechanisms, with special attention to connecting the two economies, emphasizing the connection of transport infrastructure. In addition, they agreed to continue promoting propaganda and education about the tradition of the special Vietnam-Laos relationship, especially for the young generation of the two countries.

In the context of the current complicated and unpredictable developments in the world and region, the two Deputy Prime Ministers agreed to continue to closely coordinate and support each other at regional and international forums; regularly exchange and consult on strategic issues related to security and development of each country.
