At the meeting, Son La province reported to the Working Group on the socio -economic development situation in the first months of 2023, the results of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025.
In the context of many difficulties and challenges, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the attention of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, the Central ministries, departments and branches, along with the strong leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, the efforts and determination of the entire political system and people of all ethnic groups, Son La has resolutely and effectively implemented the "dual goal" of both ensuring the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic and maintaining socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security.
Thereby, the growth rate of total product in the province in the first quarter of 2023 reached 2.09%. Total budget revenue in 2022 reached 4,636 billion VND, exceeding 23%; the first 6 months of 2023 is estimated at 2,125 billion VND. Average GRDP per capita in 2022 reached 48.9 million VND/person/year, an increase of 4.86 million VND compared to 2020.
The whole province has over 83,000 hectares of fruit trees, nearly 19,000 hectares of coffee, nearly 22,500 hectares of crops applying good agricultural production processes and equivalent standards; 281 planting area codes have been granted; 59 communes have met new rural standards. From 2021 to present, investment policy decisions and investment registration certificates have been approved and granted to 42 projects, with a total initial registered investment of over VND 8,400 billion....
At the meeting, Son La province requested the Government, ministries and branches to support the province in implementing investment preparation procedures for two ODA projects that have been approved by competent authorities, including: Urban infrastructure renovation project to respond to climate change in Son La city using loans from the French Development Agency (AFD); Agricultural development project to adapt to natural disasters using loans from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Support the province in appraising and approving the project proposal "Strengthening key connectivity infrastructure to create momentum for sustainable socio-economic development of Son La province" using loan capital from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), to create conditions for the province to have more resources to invest in the transport system, irrigation, climate change response projects, etc.
Son La province also requested the Government to pay attention to supporting and helping the province complete the procedures to submit to the Prime Minister for approval of the Project to build Son La High-Tech Agricultural Zone in Moc Chau district.
Pay attention to and direct the allocation of career capital so that the province can soon deploy support for production development for people in the resettlement area of Son La hydropower plant. Consider and study the establishment of a Steering Committee to comprehensively resolve difficulties and problems related to land originating from agricultural and forestry farms nationwide in general and Son La province in particular.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang acknowledged and highly appreciated the results that Son La province has achieved after more than 2 years of implementing the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels. In particular, the results in agricultural economic development are a bright spot of Son La in the context of many socio-economic difficulties. This will continue to be the development orientation of Son La in the coming time, in addition to the strength of tourism development.
Regarding the province's proposals and recommendations at the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: Son La's proposals and recommendations all come from practical processes at the grassroots level, and the Government Office is assigned to synthesize and report in detail and specifically to the Government as a basis for consideration and adjustment.
The Deputy Prime Minister also requested Son La to continue to unite and successfully implement the goals set out in the Resolutions of the Central and the province, building Son La to develop greenly, quickly and sustainably.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and leaders of ministries, branches and Son La province offered flowers and incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh at Tay Bac Square, Son La city.
