Phu Thuong launched environmental sanitation campaign, preparing to respond to storm No. 11

HNP - On the morning of October 5, the People's Committee of Phu Thuong Ward coordinated with Nam Thang Long Urban Development Company Limited to launch a general environmental cleaning campaign in response to the City's "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful" movement, preparing well for activities to respond to storm No. 11.

At the launching ceremony, Mr. Vo Thanh Tung - Vice Chairman of Phu Thuong Ward People's Committee informed: The ward has a natural area of ​​about 7.21 km2; of which the old village land area has an area of ​​about 1.45 km2; Nam Thang Long urban area has an area of ​​about 3.02 km2 (accounting for nearly 42% of the ward's natural area).

Forces and organizations of Phu Thuong ward mobilized to ensure environmental sanitation in the Nam Thang Long urban area.

To ensure environmental sanitation, drainage and anti-flooding solutions, the Ward People's Committee has directed Nam Thang Long Urban Area Development Company Limited to urgently concentrate resources and speed up the progress of technical infrastructure implementation of Nam Thang Long Urban Area (including completing the regulating lake in the urban area); proactively coordinate with the City's departments and branches to urgently complete investment procedures for pumping stations and water channels assigned by the City People's Committee in Document No. 1716/UBND-DT dated April 28, 2025, striving to complete and put into use in 2025.

Strengthen supervision and inspection of construction quality to ensure that the project meets technical standards, avoiding prolonged construction and deterioration before being put into use. Organize a comprehensive review of the current status of technical infrastructure in the urban area, promptly hand over the technical infrastructure to the state management agency after completion, in accordance with design documents and legal regulations.

Dredging, maintenance and clearing of sewer systems were prioritized and actively implemented at the launch ceremony.

Strengthen inspection and handling of violations in construction activities, especially the illegal dumping of construction materials and waste that clogs the drainage system, affecting environmental sanitation and urban aesthetics. Carry out periodic maintenance and repair of infrastructure, ensuring the drainage system operates smoothly and effectively. Raise awareness among residents and construction units in maintaining hygiene, not dumping garbage and waste indiscriminately; have plans to arrange reasonable temporary waste collection and gathering areas. Have plans to strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate urban technical infrastructure.

Immediately after the impact of storm No. 10, the Ward People's Committee directed Nam Thang Long Urban Development Company Limited to immediately organize environmental sanitation work and dredging, maintaining, and clearing the entire sewer system and drainage ditches within the urban area, ensuring the drainage system operates smoothly... and at the same time preparing to respond to storm No. 11.

Garbage, fallen leaves... on sidewalks and roadsides are also cleaned up, ensuring environmental landscape, limiting obstruction and blockage of water flow when it rains.

At the launching ceremony, comrade Do Dinh Son - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Thuong Ward assigned specific tasks to the Party Cell Secretaries, Heads of the Front Work Committee, Heads of Residential Groups, Youth Union and residents in the urban area; coordinated with Nam Thang Long Urban Development Company Limited, Thao Vien Xanh Company, Tay Do Environment Joint Stock Company to clean up sidewalks and roads, collect garbage, unclog sewer systems, overcome stagnant conditions causing pollution, potential risks of epidemics... to spread the message of green living, living responsibly to the community in Phu Thuong Ward.

In the coming time, the Ward People's Committee will continue to urge and coordinate with Nam Thang Long Urban Development Company Limited to speed up the implementation of the Investment Project to build the Drainage Line and the Sewer Section of Phu Thuong Pumping Station, as well as synchronous solutions to ensure drainage in the Nam Thang Long urban area in particular and Phu Thuong ward in general.
