Phuoc Son economic development

Implementing Resolution No. 08 dated December 18, 2023 of the District Party Committee on directions and tasks for 2024, Phuoc Son focused on leading and directing the implementation of all aspects of work and achieved some results.

In the agricultural sector, in the 2023-2024 winter-spring crop, the district planted more than 959 hectares, reaching 102% of the plan; in the summer-autumn crop, nearly 950 hectares were planted, reaching 101.5% of the plan. Some models of livestock farming, groups of households with 30-40 cows and hundreds of pigs initially brought high economic efficiency.

Forest management, protection and development work continues to be directed strongly. Since the beginning of the year, functional sectors have discovered and handled 11 cases of forestry law violations (1 case less than the same period last year); no forest fires have occurred in the locality.

In the first 6 months of the year, Phuoc Son district focused on developing the socio-economic situation in mountainous areas in conjunction with effectively implementing 5 important project groups in the Western region. In particular, focusing on improving the quality of large timber plantation, conserving and developing some medicinal plants and non-timber forest products; speeding up the progress of population arrangement and settlement according to Resolution No. 23 of the Provincial People's Council.

From capital sources of national target programs, Phuoc Son focuses on developing essential infrastructure, supporting poor and near-poor households to build houses, building production models according to value chains, caring for and protecting forests, vocational training associated with employment, ... helping ethnic minorities change their thinking, working methods, become self-reliant in labor and production, bringing stable income. In 2024, 467 households registered to escape poverty, reaching 119.74% of the target assigned by the province.

The District Party Committee completed 1 inspection program for 1 party organization and 2 party members; 2 thematic supervision programs for 2 party organizations and 3 party members. Developed 41 new party members, reaching 51.2% of the target assigned by the province.

To complete the targets set in the last months of the year, Phuoc Son continues to direct decisively, operate flexibly, and urge to accelerate the construction progress of natural disaster recovery projects and key projects, regional linkages.

Accelerate the allocation and disbursement of public investment capital in 2024, especially national target programs. Proactively and promptly respond effectively to climate change and natural disaster prevention. Focus on directing the completion of documents requesting the Provincial People's Committee to recognize Phuoc Nang and Phuoc Chanh communes as meeting new rural standards...
