Phuoc Son will organize the 2024 Bhnong Traditional Cultural Festival in July

Phuoc Son District People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize the Traditional Cultural Festival of the Bhnong people in 2024. The event aims to introduce, honor, promote and develop the traditional cultural beauty of the Bhnong people. At the same time, it encourages and motivates people to protect, promote and spread the traditional cultural values of the Bhnong people in the current period.

The festival will feature cultural and artistic competitions: Displaying typical historical, cultural and tourist artifacts of communes and towns; performing traditional crafts; performing traditional cuisine (with at least 6 dishes and 1 drink); performing and reenacting rituals in the traditional festival of the Bhnong people including the ritual of worshipping land to establish a village, celebrating new rice (harvest festival), worshiping and eating on the 5th day of the month (chahthonk), marriage rituals, water trough worshiping ceremony, and exorcism ceremony. In addition, there will be a mass art festival such as gong and gong dance performances, antiphonal singing, traditional costume performances...

In addition, the festival also organizes folk games such as crossing monkey bridges, walking on stilts, street parades combined with traditional musical instrument performances. On this occasion, units also organize exhibitions and introduce and promote local agricultural products and OCOP products.
