Admission plan for grade 10 of Lao Cai Specialized High School

Lao Cai High School for the Gifted has just announced its plan to organize admission to grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, the school will enroll 11 classes, including specialized classes in Math, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, Chinese, History, Geography (1 class for each specialized subject); specialized classes in English have 2 classes. The maximum number of admitted students is 385 students. Each class has a maximum of 35 students.

Eligible students must be students who have studied and graduated from secondary school in Lao Cai province, and must be within the age limit set by the Ministry of Education and Training . These students must have a year-long training result of secondary school classes from Good or higher. If the year-long learning result of secondary school classes is from Satisfactory or higher, many other conditions must be met.

Candidates will take the entrance exam from June 3 to 6. The exam scores are calculated on a 10-point scale. The admission score is calculated by the sum of the scores of the non-major exams (coefficient 1) plus the scores of the major exams (coefficient 2).

Candidates complete procedures before entering the exam room at Lao Cai Specialized High School for the 2024-2025 school year.

Each candidate must take 4 exams, including 3 general exams of the public high school grade 10 exam: Literature, Math, English and 1 exam of the specialized subject according to their wishes. The time for the specialized subject exam is 150 minutes; each specialized subject has a separate exam according to the secondary school subject program, the exam content ensures the selection of students with talent in the specialized subject.

The Departmentof Education and Training will approve admission to grade 10 of specialized high schools before non-specialized schools. For candidates who are not admitted to specialized high schools, the results of the 3 general subject exams will be used to consider admission to grade 10 of boarding ethnic high schools or grade 10 of public high schools that the candidates have registered for.
