Episode 4 of the show "Em xinh say hi" - opening round Live Stage 2, witnessed an explosive performance from Phuong My Chi's team with a performance called "He".

The performance made a strong impression not only because of the creative music but also because of the bold blend of traditional tuong art and modern music – a clear mark from the female captain herself.

"He" brings together members of Phao Northside, Phuong Ly, Chi Xe and Anh Trai WEAN, with an elaborate staging. From the music with a new arrangement of hát bội, to the costumes inspired by the brilliant ancient tuong stage - all create a space full of folklore but full of modern vitality.

The special point lies in the unexpected transformation in the performance: from traditional rhythm to electronic rhythm, from Tuong stage expression to strong rap choreography - opening up a multi-dimensional artistic space but still maintaining the traditional soul.

Singer Phuong My Chi not only led the team, but also composed the lyrics with the color of hát bội, consulted with Meritorious Artist Ngoc Khanh and proactively studied online with artists of the Vietnam Tuong Theater. That effort was highly appreciated by Meritorious Artist Ngoc Khanh:

"I was really surprised. Singer Phuong My Chi not only approached hát bội seriously but also conveyed the "soul of hát bội" to young audiences, which is rare. That sincerity and understanding create true artistic value for the performance."

Sharing after the competition, singer Phuong My Chi expressed her desire to continue spreading Vietnamese cultural values through a new musical language:

"I hope that traditional things will not be forgotten, but will be re-examined in a fresh way, closer to the younger generation."

With consensus from the audience and experts, "He" was voted as one of the two best performances in the first round, helping Phuong My Chi's team temporarily lead the rankings - creating a big advantage for the next rounds.

Meritorious Artist Ngoc Khanh was delighted to hear this news. He believes that singers who volunteer to be "Ambassadors" for traditional national theater like Phuong My Chi will contribute to protecting the heritage that their ancestors have created for the country's cultural and artistic foundation. From there, young people will learn about hát bội, chèo, cải lương, folk songs, folk music and join hands to protect the nation's heritage.
