In the latest episode of the show Sing! Asia , Phuong My Chi not only made the audience explode with her powerful folk voice, but also caused a stir when she suddenly… danced Vovinam martial arts right on stage.

Phuong My Chi sings and dances in the show "Sing! Asia".
Appearing on the international stage with two songs of contemporary folk music – Buôn Trăng and Rock Hạt Cơo, Phương Mỹ Chi showed off her sweet, strong yet delicate voice. These are two compositions in the album Vũ tử cổ bay – a highly appreciated experimental music project of the female singer born in 2003.
From her meticulous handling of high notes, emotional emphasis to her confident performance, Phuong My Chi completely dominated the Sing! Asia stage. The ending of the Rock Grain performance surprised the entire studio when she performed a series of powerful, precise and charismatic Vovinam martial arts moves.
To Huu Bang was surprised by Phuong My Chi's performance. He praised Phuong My Chi for her sweet, strong and rare voice. The actor wondered why Phuong My Chi's performance included martial arts, and the female singer gracefully replied: " The song was inspired by the poem Day Thon Vi Da by Han Mac Tu - a son of Binh Dinh, the land of martial arts in Vietnam. I wanted to bring Vovinam - the national martial art - into the performance to honor the beauty of my homeland's culture."
Diva Truong Luong Dinh commented: "You have a beautiful, delicate voice. Your musical style is also close to the youth. Your costumes and dance moves are impressive."
According to diva judge Truong Luong Dinh, Phuong My Chi knows how to control the standard and subtle rhythm. When she sang a folk song of the Southwest region in the exchange part, the audience at the competition burst into applause because of her strong and emotional voice.
Singer Dan Truong – guest judge – shared that he was worried that the performance with strong folk elements might not appeal to international audiences. But when Phuong My Chi sang and breathed new energy into the song, he felt very proud.

The performance was not only outstanding in its music, but also scored points for its visual elements that were deeply Vietnamese. Phuong My Chi appeared in an outfit inspired by the four-panel dress and non quai thao – symbols of Kinh Bac quan ho costumes. On the outfit was an image of a stork – a symbol that runs throughout the album Vu tru co bay.
Buôn Trăng opens with a hut singing section, while Rock Hat Gao is a strange blend of Southern folk songs and modern rock. It is these bold yet calculated experiments that have helped Phương Mỹ Chi create her own identity on the competitive international stage.
After the performance, Phuong My Chi chose Rock Hat Gao to compete with the Japanese contestant and won, officially becoming the "King of Stations" - the highest title in each episode, corresponding to the filming location of Ha Long Bay (Vietnam).
