Tan Chau Ward launches peak campaign against smuggling and trade fraud

On October 9, the People's Committee of Tan Chau Ward (An Giang Province) held a meeting to deploy a plan to strengthen the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the last months of 2025.

Authorities launched an inspection at Tan Chau market.

According to the plan, Tan Chau ward will step up market inspection and control, focusing on high-demand consumer goods during holidays and Tet, such as: cigarettes, alcohol, beer, sugar, food, clothes, fireworks of all kinds...; at the same time, strengthen supervision of buying and selling activities on e-commerce and social networks.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 389 of Tan Chau Ward Nguyen Minh Tuyen requested members of Steering Committee 389 to uphold their sense of responsibility, stay close to the locality, proactively grasp the situation, promptly detect and strictly handle violations; strengthen propaganda and mobilize people not to assist in smuggling and trade fraud, especially during the peak period before, during and after Tet; promptly commend collectives and individuals with achievements...

After the meeting, the authorities inspected Tan Chau Market. The market currently has 1,026 stalls, of which nearly 500 households operate regularly.
