PSG receives bad news before Champions League final

Kvaratskhelia miss French Cup final.

Paris Saint-Germain won 3-0 over Reims to win the French Cup, but they received bad news about their squad when star Kvaratskhelia is likely to miss next week's Champions League final.

Kvaratskhelia was initially named in the starting line-up by Luis Enrique against Reims, but was dropped after the warm-up due to injury. The former Napoli star was then benched to make way for Desiré Doué.

RMC Sport revealed that Kvaratskhelia had to leave the pitch and return home before the end of the match. The possibility of the Georgian star being able to play in the Champions League final against Inter Milan in the early morning of June 1 is still uncertain.

However, in his post-match speech, coach Enrique remained optimistic: "Kvaratskhelia had a problem during the pre-match warm-up and I decided to let him rest. He was sent home early and will be present at training next week."

Since moving to PSG in January, Kvaratskhelia has quickly become a mainstay in the French club's attack. He has scored 6 goals and provided 5 assists in 22 appearances for PSG this season. In the 2024/25 Champions League, Kvaratskhelia has scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists in just 8 games.
