2 Korean referees officiated the derby between CAHN Club and Hanoi: They also refereed the match between Vietnam and Singapore.

The V-League organizing committee has invited two Korean referees to participate in officiating round 24.

Quang Hai meets familiar referees again in both AFF Cup and Southeast Asia Cup 1

The match between Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) and Hanoi Club in round 24 of V-League 2024 - 2025 (Hang Day Stadium, 7:15 p.m. on May 26, 2025) will be officiated by a Korean FIFA referee.

Specifically, two referees Kim Woo-sung and Chae Sang-hyeop were invited by the tournament organizers to officiate at the capital derby match at Hang Day Stadium. One will act as the main referee, the other as a VAR referee.

Hanoi FC is currently ranked 2nd with 43 points after 23 rounds. The capital team is in impressive form with 4 wins in the last 5 matches, scoring 12 goals. Meanwhile, CAHN FC is ranked 5th with 33 points after 21 matches. This is one of the most anticipated confrontations in round 24 of LPBank V.League.

Both Korean referees have never officiated in the V-League. However, referee Kim Woo-sung is a “familiar” with Vietnamese football, having officiated in several national level matches.

The most recent match was Vietnam's away match against Singapore at the AFF Cup 2024. The referee born in 1987 also officiated the match between U.23 Vietnam and U.23 Uzbekistan at the U.23 Asian Cup.

Referee Kim's colleague, FIFA referee Chae Sang-hyeop, was born in 1989. He was the main referee in the match where CAHN FC beat Borneo FC 3-2 at Hang Day Stadium in the group stage of the Southeast Asian Club Championship (Southeast Asian Cup C1), where the Vietnamese representative reached the final. Thus, Quang Hai met two familiar referees again.

Inviting foreign referees to officiate some matches in national professional football tournaments is part of the plan of the Vietnam Football Federation and the tournament organizing committee, usually applied to the final rounds - when the key matches in the championship group or decisive confrontations at the bottom of the rankings.

In this year's season, foreign referees were invited by the tournament organizers from round 17 of LPBank V-League.
