Morgan Stanley has just revealed details about the iPhone lineup from now until 2027, and Apple's first iPhone Fold model will likely feature an under-display selfie camera (UDC), marking a major shift in how Apple handles the front camera.

In particular, Morgan Stanley's draft specifications show that Apple has "noted" at least one 24-megapixel under-display selfie camera on the iPhone Fold model, and notably, the absence of Face ID.
This information has sparked much debate, given that Face ID has been a hallmark of iPhones for many years.
Under-display camera: A step forward in optimizing the full-screen experience.
Morgan Stanley reports that the iPhone Fold will feature a 24MP selfie lens hidden beneath the screen. Switching to a UDC camera means Apple could eliminate the notch or Dynamic Island entirely – creating a truly full-screen display experience.
In addition to the hidden front camera, the iPhone Fold will use a dual rear camera system, including a 48MP sensor for the ultra-wide-angle lens.
However, this model will lack a variable aperture, a telephoto lens, a ToF depth sensor, and most notably, Face ID – a move that suggests Apple may be switching to a new recognition technology or focusing on optimizing the foldable screen user experience.
According to current information, the iPhone Fold will use a book-like folding mechanism – similar to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold, but Apple is focusing on thinness.
When folded, the device is expected to be less than 10mm thick, thinner than most foldable smartphones currently available.
When unfolded, the foldable iPhone has a 7.8-inch screen, while the outer screen measures 5.5 inches.
This combination allows users to easily interact with the external screen when the device is closed, and transforms the iPhone Fold into a device equivalent to an iPad mini when unfolded.
Hardware power: New modem, A20 chip, and 12GB of RAM.
Apple's first foldable iPhone model is said to use Apple's own C2 modem, reducing its reliance on Qualcomm.
In terms of performance, the device will be equipped with the A20 processor, a chip generation expected to launch in 2026, manufactured using a 2nm process, offering approximately 15% performance increase and 30% power efficiency compared to the A19 (3nm).
Other leaked specifications include: 12GB of RAM; up to 1TB of storage; a battery up to 5,500mAh; and an expected price starting from $2,000.

If this price remains unchanged, the iPhone Fold will be in the ultra-premium segment, directly competing with the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra and high-end foldable phones from China.
LOFIC technology on the iPhone 20: A leap forward in photography capabilities.
Alongside information about the iPhone Fold, a reliable source on the Naver blog – the account “Yeux1122” – revealed that the iPhone 20 series, expected to launch in 2027, will utilize LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) camera technology.
