Marseille striker Amine Gouiri has criticised the French Professional Footballers' Union (UNFP) for not having Mason Greenwood nominated for individual awards at the end of the season.

Greenwood shines in Marseille.

Marseille won four of their last five Ligue 1 games, finishing second in the season and qualifying for next season's Champions League.

Greenwood has the same number of goals as PSG's Ousmane Dembele (21 goals). However, Dembele was named UNFP Player of the Year, while Greenwood did not receive any awards.

Gouiri believes Greenwood's efforts in his first season in France deserve recognition. "It's a scandal. He's the top scorer in Ligue 1. Mason has shown himself to be a world- class striker. He doesn't need time to adapt and can finish with both feet."

The UNFP award is decided based on the votes of Ligue 1 players. Of the 11 players selected for the best team of the season, 9 are from PSG. The remaining two are Lucas Chevalier (Lille) and Rayan Cherki (Lyon).

Despite a stellar season, Greenwood's future at Marseille is uncertain. The club's sporting director Medhi Benatia has not ruled out selling the former Manchester United star this summer if the price is right.

“Apart from PSG, there is no club in France that can say that this player is untouchable. If tomorrow a team puts 100 million euros on the table for Greenwood, what will we do?”, Benatia said.

The squad revived their careers after leaving Man Utd De Gea, Greenwood and Scott McTominay are all in good form after leaving the "Theatre of Dreams".
