Many diners at Quan Bo Kho Ganh praise the dish for its rich flavor. The beef and tendons are carefully prepared, stewed until tender, retaining just the right amount of chewiness, and evenly seasoned without being overly strong or pungent, resulting in a light and refreshing taste.
Tony Tran, a Vietnamese expatriate and regular customer, was very surprised to learn that his favorite restaurant had been awarded a Michelin prize.
“Every time I return to Vietnam, I have to visit this restaurant at least twice a week. The bread is crispy grilled over charcoal; the broth isn't too greasy, with little oil. I really enjoy the flavors here,” said Tony Tran.
Ms. Ta Thi Minh Nguyen, 46 years old, owner of Bo Kho Ganh restaurant, shared that after receiving the award, the number of customers visiting the restaurant increased significantly, especially international customers, who account for about 30% of the total number of customers.
"The secret to our restaurant lies in our family recipe combined with three types of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs to create the distinctive flavor of our braised beef. In particular, our braised beef with young beef ribs has been modified and is a favorite among many customers," Ms. Minh Nguyen revealed.

The restaurant's signature beef stew was originally the signature dish of Mrs. Phuc, the mother of the current owner. Mrs. Phuc is a skilled cook, often preparing dishes for weddings and parties... Among them, her beef stew is particularly popular with customers.
Ms. Nguyen later inherited her mother's cooking skills, combining them with Chinese cuisine from Cholon Market – a market near her home – to create a unique beef stew that has become a culinary highlight of Ho Chi Minh City. The beef stew at her restaurant is considered to have a rich, traditional flavor.
With the arrival of Michelin in Vietnam, restaurants and eateries have more opportunities to promote Vietnamese cuisine to international friends, contributing to raising the profile of Vietnamese cuisine on the world map.
