In an interview with the national daily El Tiempo, Mr. Murillo reiterated that Bogota's decision to expel a number of Argentine diplomatic staff in Colombia, including the Ambassador, on March 27 was to "protect the honor of the national President."
Colombia's foreign minister said he would not allow the far-right Argentine leader to continue using inappropriate language toward President Gustavo Petro, and expressed confidence that the two neighboring countries could "overcome difficult times."
Mr. Murillo affirmed that the Colombian consulate in Buenos Aires and its associates are still operating normally and that trade between the two South American countries, with a value of 1.675 billion USD in 2023, is not affected by diplomatic tensions.
