Quang Nam supports victims of human trafficking in the area to integrate sustainably into the community.

The People's Committee of Quang Nam province has just issued Plan 1522/KH-UBND to support victims of human trafficking in Quang Nam province in 2023. Thereby, it aims to improve the effectiveness of victim support work, ensure equality, increase the rate of victims of human trafficking accessing and using support services and sustainable community integration.

The Provincial People's Committee issued Plan 1522/KH-UBND on March 17, also aiming to create a change in awareness, raise the sense of responsibility of Party committees at all levels, authorities, communities and society in the work of preventing and combating human trafficking, supporting victims of trafficking; promote the work of preventing and combating trafficking and re-trafficking; improve the effectiveness of victim support work, ensure equality, increase the rate of victims of trafficking accessing and using support services and sustainable community integration.

Along with that, it is necessary to carry out the work of receiving and supporting victims of trafficking in accordance with regulations; strengthen coordination between functional agencies and localities in supporting victims of trafficking to return; mobilize resources for victim support work; support victims based on the characteristics and needs of victims, ensuring the principle of putting victims at the center.

To effectively support victims of human trafficking in the province, there are a number of targets such as: Strive for 100% of cases after being identified as victims of human trafficking to have access to support services according to their needs and enjoy support regimes according to the provisions of law, ensuring the rights and interests of victims.

100% of high-risk localities with victims of human trafficking organize propaganda to prevent and combat human trafficking. 100% of staff working to support victims of human trafficking are trained and have improved professional capacity.

The plan also sets out many tasks and solutions, including promoting direct communication in the community, with diverse and rich content and forms, suitable for age and gender, attracting many participants; focusing on localities with borders with Laos, in remote areas, with many ethnic minorities living, with victims of trafficking; focusing on high-risk groups of women and girls.

At the same time, expand and improve the quality of social services to support victims of trafficking; organize reception, arrange accommodation, and implement support policies for victims according to regulations; create conditions for victims to have jobs, stable income, and integrate into the community after returning to their localities; continue to invest in building and replicating effective models of prevention, prevention, and support for victims of trafficking.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned agencies, units and localities to strengthen coordination in implementing regulations on receiving and supporting victims of human trafficking in the area according to Decision No. 4659/QD-UBND dated December 9, 2015 of the Provincial People's Committee; as well as strengthening international cooperation to improve the effectiveness of prevention and support for victims of human trafficking to return home.
