The program was attended by representatives of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Taipei City Travel Association and 30 tourism businesses in Quang Nam, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue and more than 100 tourism businesses and press in Taiwan.
Accompanying the Quang Nam tourism industry are 10 businesses including: Hoiana Resort & Golf, Hoi An Memory Island, Almanity Hoi An Resort & Spa, Citadines Pearl Hoi An, Hoian Central Boutique Hotel & Spa, Bliss Hoi An Beach Resort & Wellness, Wyndham Hoi An Royal Beachfront Resort & Villas, Grand Sunrise Palace Hoi An, Peony Edu Travel and Duy Nhat Indochina Tourism Company Limited.
The program's main activities include: introducing destinations; updating information and new tourism products; the "Green Heritage Area" tourism stimulus program; events and festivals of the three provinces and cities.
In addition, there is also a space for film screenings and photo exhibitions introducing the culture, tourism, and specialty products of the three provinces and cities. A space (B2B) is organized for tourism businesses to access, exchange, introduce information, offer tourism products and services suitable for the market, the needs of Taiwanese customers, and attractive incentive and promotional programs to expand cooperation and develop the Taiwanese market.
This tourism promotion program in Taiwan contributes to attracting and expanding the Northeast Asian market in general and the Taiwanese tourist market in particular. It continues to affirm the brand, role and position of Quang Nam tourism industry as a leading tourist destination in the region and the world.
Quang Nam, Da Nang, and Thua Thien Hue are located on the Central Heritage Road with many UNESCO-recognized heritage sites as well as possessing diverse and rich destinations, tourism services, and cultural, culinary, and adventure sports experiences.
The promotion program aims to build a sustainable cooperative relationship between the tourism industry of Vietnam and Taiwan, opening up many new opportunities to attract Taiwanese tourists to the Central region of Vietnam as well as Quang Nam. At the same time, it promotes the brand "Amazing Central Vietnam Heritage" to affirm the position of Central Vietnam tourism as a unique cultural, historical and natural destination on the international tourism map.
In 2024, the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province will assume the role of Cluster Leader for tourism development linkage of 5 provinces and cities of "Wonderful Heritage Land" (Quang Nam - Da Nang - Thua Thien Hue - Quang Tri - Quang Binh).
In the first 5 months of 2024, Vietnam welcomed nearly 530 thousand Taiwanese visitors, an increase of more than 110% over the same period last year; of which about 45% of visitors came to Central tourist destinations such as Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang...
In Quang Nam, the Taiwanese tourist market is always in the top 10 international tourist markets. Statistics for the first 5 months of the year show that Taiwanese tourists to Quang Nam are estimated to have reached over 131,000 arrivals, ranking second only to Korean tourists (over 161,000 arrivals).
The number of Taiwanese visitors is forecast to continue to grow in the coming time, especially when some flight routes are opened. Up to now, Da Nang International Airport receives an average of 6 direct flights per day from Taiwan, including Taipei (4 flights), Kaohsiung (1 flight), Taichung (1 flight).
