On the night of October 20 and early this morning (October 21), the Border Guard Command of Quang Ngai province simultaneously fired signal flares at four locations: Sa Ky, Sa Can, Sa Huynh seaports and Ly Son special zone, calling on ships to urgently seek safe shelter.
At Sa Ky estuary, the border area between Dong Son and Tinh Khe communes, Quang Ngai province, Border Guard Squadron 2 organized the firing of storm warning flares No. 12. The flares not only help local fishermen but also boats from other provinces and ships that have lost contact to easily locate the estuary to find shelter; at the same time, they also provide early warning for coastal residents to proactively reinforce their houses, prepare for natural disasters, and minimize damage to people and property when the storm makes landfall.
At the same time, the Border Guard Stations of Sa Huynh, Binh Thanh and Ly Son special zone also deployed flares, issued storm warning orders No. 12, and instructed fishermen to anchor boats, tie down cages and rafts, and move ashore for safe shelter.
Up to now, Quang Ngai province has about 6,100 ships with more than 34,300 fishermen anchored and implemented disaster prevention measures. There are still 309 ships with more than 4,000 fishermen operating at sea. All ships in the danger zone have received information about storm No. 12 and are moving out of the storm's affected area.
