Quang Ngai: Investment in infrastructure development is a top priority

In recent times, Quang Ngai province has prioritized resources, focused on planning, investing in construction and gradually completing the transport infrastructure system, ensuring connectivity between urban and rural areas, facilitating trade and transportation, and promoting socio -economic development.

Traffic marks of the 2020-2025 term

One of the traffic works of special significance is Phuoc Loc Bridge, the 7th bridge across Tra Khuc River, inaugurated on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. This is a new traffic route, a vital belt connecting the South - North in the western area of Quang Ngai provincial center, especially the section passing through large industrial zones.

Phuoc Loc Bridge, put into use, connects National Highway 24B with Provincial Road 623B, creating favorable conditions for infrastructure, service, urban development and effective exploitation of land funds in the communes of Nghia Giang and Son Tinh.

During the 2020-2025 term, many major transport projects continue to be implemented, with the mission of paving the way for development for the province. After completing phase 1, Quang Ngai is investing in phase 2 of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal route.

The Hoang Sa - Doc Soi route will start construction in 2023, with a total investment of VND 3,500 billion and a length of nearly 27 km. When completed, the route will form an important vertical traffic axis, connecting quickly and conveniently from Chu Lai airport, Dung Quat Economic Zone to the province's administrative center and southern localities.

During this period, the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board was assigned to implement 61 projects, with a total planned capital of more than 11 trillion VND, including many large-scale projects with high spillover effects. To date, 43 projects have been completed and put into use, contributing significantly to the completion of a synchronous and modern infrastructure, in line with the direction of Resolution No. 03/2021 of the Provincial Party Committee.

Speed up the progress of major traffic infrastructure projects

With the viewpoint of "transportation is one step ahead", in the 2025-2030 term, Quang Ngai will continue to coordinate to speed up the progress of important infrastructure projects in the area such as: North-South high-speed railway, Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway, Dung Quat - Sa Huynh coastal road, and the western bypass of Quang Ngai center.

In addition, the province also proposed that the Central Government invest in the Ngoc Hoi - Kon Tum - Pleiku expressway, upgrade national highways 24, 40, 40B, 14C, invest in infrastructure connecting Chu Lai airport, research and develop Ly Son airport, Mang Den airport, railway connecting the Central Highlands region and traffic infrastructure connecting Bo Y international border gate with Dung Quat deep-water port.

Infrastructure development investment is a top priority of Quang Ngai.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai Province Nguyen Hoang Giang affirmed that the planning of Quang Ngai (old) and Kon Tum (old) provinces has determined that the East-West economic corridor is not only a strategic traffic axis but also a driving force for economic, cultural, and tourism development, connecting coastal and mountainous areas. The Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway has been added to the national road network planning and is being invested in, opening up great opportunities to promote regional connectivity and socio-economic development.

Entering the new term 2025-2030, Quang Ngai province continues to set the goal of mobilizing and effectively using all resources to invest in developing synchronous and modern infrastructure, prioritizing projects with spillover effects, creating strong development momentum, attracting investment, promoting socio-economic growth, while ensuring national defense and security, and improving the quality of life of the people.
