Accordingly, after the arrangement, Quang Ngai province has 56 commune-level administrative units, including 49 communes, 6 wards and Ly Son special zone, reaching a rate of 32.35%; a reduction of 115 commune-level administrative units compared to 170 commune-level administrative units before the arrangement (reaching a rate of 67.65%); there are no more district-level administrative units.
Of which, Quang Ngai city has 3 wards and 2 communes; Duc Pho town has 3 wards and 2 communes; districts: Binh Son 5 communes; Son Tinh 4 communes; Nghia Hanh 4 communes; Son Tay 3 communes; Minh Long 2 communes; Mo Duc 4 communes; Tu Nghia 4 communes; Tra Bong 6 communes; Son Ha 5 communes; Ba To 8 communes and Ly Son special zone.
Regarding the Resolution on the arrangement of provincial administrative units: Establishing Quang Ngai province on the basis of merging Kon Tum province and Quang Ngai province. The political -administrative center is currently located in Quang Ngai city.
The new Quang Ngai province administrative unit has an area of over 14,832 km2, a population of 2,161,755 people, 96 affiliated administrative units, including 95 communes and 1 special zone.

Also at the meeting, the People's Council of Quang Ngai province considered and approved 9 important Resolutions related to socio -economic development tasks, contributing to striving to achieve the target of 8.5% or more of total product growth in 2025 in the province.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Bui Thi Quynh Van, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province, said that in recent times, Quang Ngai province has seriously and resolutely implemented the Central's instructions on restructuring and streamlining the apparatus, especially restructuring and reorganizing administrative units at the provincial and communal levels and implementing the two-level local government model.

In accordance with regulations and instructions of competent authorities, the whole province has organized to collect voters' opinions on the arrangement of provincial and commune-level administrative units of the province, ensuring the correct time and roadmap as required, with a high consensus rate of voters and People's Council delegates at district and commune levels.
"The approval of the policy on the arrangement of administrative units at the commune and provincial levels is an important basis for the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to continue completing the project dossier to submit to the Government and the Ministry of Home Affairs according to regulations," emphasized comrade Bui Thi Quynh Van.
He suggested that after the project is approved by competent authorities, the Provincial People's Committee direct relevant departments, branches and localities to focus on perfecting the organizational structure, have plans to arrange and reasonably use working offices, equipment, finance, public assets, infrastructure, not to waste, lose or damage state assets; promptly ensure the best regimes, policies and service conditions for the government and people after the arrangement according to regulations.
At the same time, continue to strengthen propaganda and mobilization work to create high consensus and unity among the people; soon stabilize all aspects, meet the requirements of socio-economic development, national defense and ensure security, social order and safety; create favorable conditions for organizations and individuals when carrying out administrative procedures and converting documents according to the new administrative unit.
