Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nong Duc Manh, former General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Prime Minister; together with leaders of central departments, ministries and branches; leaders of Bac Kan province (old) and Thai Nguyen province (old); comrades former leaders of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces.
At the ceremony, Comrade Do Ngoc Huynh, Deputy Head of the Government Office, announced the Resolutions and Decisions of the Central Committee, including: Resolution No. 202/2025/NQ/QH15 of the National Assembly on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units; Resolution No. 1683/NQ-UBTVQH of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Thai Nguyen province in 2025; Decision No. 308-QD/TW of the Politburo on the establishment of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee; Decision No. 2106-QDNS/TW of the Politburo on the appointment of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee.
Accordingly, comrade Trinh Viet Hung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee, was appointed to hold the position of new Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee. The Deputy Secretaries include: Dinh Quang Tuyen (Deputy Secretary of the Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee); Nguyen Dang Binh (Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee); Pham Hoang Son (Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Council).
Comrade Nguyen Dang Binh was appointed by the Central Committee to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province; Comrade Pham Hoang Son to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province.
Also at the ceremony, the Central Committee's decisions on appointing the Inspection Committee, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the new Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Inspection Committee; Vice Chairman of the People's Council, Heads of the People's Council's committees; Vice Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee; establishment of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen province; Head and Vice Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thai Nguyen province were announced.
The ceremony also announced the decisions of the two old provinces of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan on the organization of the two-level local government apparatus and personnel work. Accordingly, the new Thai Nguyen province has 92 new communes and wards.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that this is a historical milestone and an important political event not only for Thai Nguyen province but also for the country's comprehensive innovation process.
The merger of the two provinces is of special importance in order to expand development space, unleash resources, and closely connect the dynamic industrial-urban center of Thai Nguyen with the unique ecological and cultural potential of Bac Kan.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested that from July 1, all work under the authority of local authorities at two levels must be carried out smoothly, without delay or omission, in the spirit of better serving the people and businesses; at the same time, preserving the image and style of officials from administrative service to service to the people.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested and believed that with the spirit of solidarity and high political determination, the new Thai Nguyen province will overcome difficulties, rise up, and well implement the set goals and plans.
