Quang Ninh proactively faces complicated developments of storm No. 1

(PLVN) - In response to the unusual developments of storm No. 1, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province has issued a document on proactive response to storm No. 1 (WUTIP). At the same time, strictly implement the directions of the Prime Minister, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

According to forecasts, storm No. 1 has not directly affected Quang Ninh province, however, this is a storm with a complex movement direction. Therefore, the Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee requested that units and localities absolutely not be subjective, negligent, lose vigilance, and not allow interruptions in directing response to natural disasters when implementing the rearrangement of administrative units and the organization of two-level local governments.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province assigned: The Department of Agriculture and Environment to closely coordinate with agencies and units to closely monitor the storm's developments and inform localities and units to proactively deploy response measures.

The Department of Fisheries coordinates with the People's Committees of coastal localities to keep track of the number of vessels (especially offshore vessels); notify owners of vehicles operating at sea of ​​the location and developments of the storm so that they can proactively take preventive measures, not enter dangerous areas and move to safety.

The People's Committees of localities organize information for people about the storm's developments; proactively deploy response work appropriate to the specific situation in the locality; for coastal localities, be ready to reinforce aquaculture cages, accurately grasp the number of people present in aquaculture areas to be ready to evacuate when a situation occurs.

Check each residential area specifically to prepare a plan to move to a safe place when needed. Notify entertainment areas and construction sites in the area about storm information to have appropriate response solutions.

At the same time, review, repair and thoroughly fix dike incidents (note particularly dangerous points that have not been thoroughly handled), ensuring completion before the 2025 rainy and flood season to proactively respond to floods and storms; at the same time, review and identify key dike points; develop, approve and implement in practice dike protection plans and key protection plans according to the "four on-site" motto to be ready and proactively respond to floods and storms.

The Department of Construction directed the Inland Port Authority to review and grasp the number of tourist boats, be ready to implement sea bans when requested; guide boats to anchor and take shelter at wharves and anchorage areas.

Inland waterway port authorities and coastal information stations monitor storm developments, instruct ships not to enter dangerous areas and to return to safe shelters in case of dangerous situations; strictly enforce sea bans when required.

The Provincial Communication Center increases information about storm developments, instructs people on prevention, response, and damage reduction skills.

The provincial Hydrometeorological Station closely monitors the storm's developments and informs localities and units to proactively deploy response measures.

Previously, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Quang Ninh province issued a document announcing the restriction of waterway activities in the province.

Accordingly, the issuance of licenses for activities and stays at sea will be temporarily suspended tonight and tonight (June 13). Based on the storm's developments in the coming time, be ready to implement the sea ban when requested. Risk level 3: Sea area of ​​the Gulf of Tonkin, offshore waters from Quang Tri to Da Nang and the northwest of the North East Sea. Due to the influence of storm No. 1, from this afternoon and tonight, June 13, the sea off the coast of Quang Ninh province (including Co To island district and island communes of Van Don district, Cai Chien island commune, Vinh Thuc), the wind will gradually increase to level 6-7, gusting to level 8, rough seas, waves 1-2m high; coastal areas and coastal waters from Quang Yen town, Ha Long city, Ha Long bay, Cam Pha city, Bai Tu Long bay, Van Don district will have level 4-5, gusting to level 6-7; Tien Yen district, Dam Ha district, Hai Ha district, Mong Cai city will have level 3-4 winds, sometimes level 5, gusting to level 6.
