Inheriting the tradition of solidarity, unity, will, aspiration, cultural values, human resources, overcoming many difficulties and challenges, in the 2020-2025 term, Quang Tri has focused on leadership and direction to achieve important and outstanding results in all fields. Maintaining the trust of people, businesses, cadres, party members; maintaining a peaceful , friendly, stable, cooperative and developing border.
The Party Committee has always paid top priority to Party building in terms of politics, ideology and ethics and has been carried out synchronously, comprehensively and regularly throughout the term. Organizational and personnel work has been deployed resolutely and comprehensively, especially the implementation of streamlining the political system's apparatus.
With the government's innovative leadership, direction, management and operation methods, effective and efficient operations, the economic, cultural and social picture of Quang Tri province during the term continued to develop with many bright spots. The province has basically completed the socio-economic development goals and targets, increasing the scale of the economy after the province's merger. The total state budget revenue in this period reached more than 59,300 billion VND, creating an important resource for development investment. The average growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the area in the period 2021-2025 reached 6.8%/year. The average GRDP per capita reached more than 79 million VND, 1.6 times higher than in 2020.
This is also the period when key projects on energy, transportation, and logistics are implemented, fundamentally changing the appearance and continuing to create a solid foundation for the new term. In particular, with the strong development of clean energy and renewable energy projects, Quang Tri is gradually becoming the energy center of the region and the whole country.
The local infrastructure has developed strongly, gradually synchronized and modernized. The economic structure of the province has shifted positively, the driving role of the energy, processing, service and tourism industries has been strongly promoted. Agriculture has developed in the direction of applying high technology, green agriculture associated with new rural construction.
New growth drivers have been initiated and are taking effect, especially in the cultural industry, tourism, digital economy, green economy, and heritage economy. Marking the remarkable development of the tourism industry, as the position and brand of Quang Tri tourism are increasingly affirmed on the tourism map of Vietnam, the region, and the world.
The merger of Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces continues to open up great opportunities, creating a wide open space for connection, where all types of unique tourism converge such as cave exploration, sea resorts, ecology, history, peace and spiritual tourism, etc., affirming the role of a key economic sector.
The province pays attention to social development, invests in taking care of people on the basis of implementing good policies to ensure social security, especially for those who have contributed to the revolution, innovates education and training, and takes care of people's health. The province focuses on effectively implementing poverty reduction programs. One of the outstanding marks is the program to eliminate temporary houses, dilapidated houses, and support housing, which is strongly directed. To date, nearly 15,000 houses have been completed, helping poor households and policy families stabilize their housing and strive to "settle down and make a living".
In the field of national defense and security, the province has always maintained political stability and social order and safety. Foreign relations have been increasingly expanded, cooperation with provinces of Laos and many international partners has been strengthened, contributing to enhancing the position of Quang Tri, building this place into a reliable destination in the integration process.

This is the result of the combined will, social consensus and spirit of solidarity and high responsibility of the political system and people of the whole province. Quang Tri is facing many new opportunities and opportunities. With a natural area of about 12,700 km², the province is among the 10 largest localities in the country. The province has 191 km of coastline with seven beautiful estuaries; 409 km of border with Laos; two airports, three seaports, three international border gates, four economic zones and a synchronous transportation system with all types of roads, railways, waterways, and airways, with a large space to develop key economic sectors, expand regional linkages and international integration. Culture and people are the foundation; strengthening national defense and security and promoting foreign affairs and international integration are important and regular tasks. Promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, arousing the will of self-reliance, self-reliance and the aspiration to rise up of the people of Quang Tri, turning them into endogenous resources and important driving forces for development.
By 2030, Quang Tri strives to become a province with a dynamic economic foundation and high autonomy; effectively connecting urban economy, maritime economy, border economy, digital economy and high-tech agriculture; a locality with relatively high competitiveness in the North Central region, and at the same time an important trade and logistics connection center on the East-West economic corridor; becoming a new growth pole in the central region.
