Quang Tri: Discovery of case of transporting dead pigs of unknown origin

On June 3, the Department of Investigation Police on Economic Crimes, Corruption, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes, Quang Tri Provincial Police, announced that it had just discovered a case of transporting dead pigs with signs of violating the law at a concentrated animal slaughterhouse in Dong Luong Ward, Dong Ha City.

Previously, at 5:10 p.m. on June 2, the working group inspected a truck with license plate 75C-103.01 at the slaughterhouse yard and discovered 9 dead pigs on board.

Through initial investigation, the authorities identified Mr. Dang Van Duy, born in 1991, residing in Phong Dien town, Hue city, as the owner of the animals. Mr. Duy admitted to buying the pigs from trucks in Hai Lang district and could not produce documents proving their origin.

The authorities drew up a record, confiscated and destroyed all the dead animals that night in accordance with regulations.

Currently, the authorities are continuing to verify and investigate to handle the case in accordance with the provisions of law.
