The MPV market in China has just welcomed a notable newcomer from the US, the 2026 Buick GL8 Land Business Class, the latest version of the popular minivan line. With a starting price of only about 32,000 USD, the car not only attracts attention thanks to its modern design but also because of a series of convenient technologies aimed at families and businessmen. The 2026 Buick GL8 has a completely redesigned exterior, adopting the company's modern "Pure" design language. The front of the car stands out with an extended grille, slimmer LED headlights, and a tiered grille that creates a sense of grandeur.
Electric sliding doors on both sides, dark glass for the rear seats, sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels make the MPV look more luxurious and convenient in many urban driving situations. At the rear, the LED taillights are seamlessly designed, creating a visual impression when moving at night. The cabin of the GL8 2026 is a big plus with comprehensive changes in interface and utilities. The center of the dashboard is a pair of 12.3-inch digital screens integrating entertainment and driving information display. The steering wheel and gear lever cluster are newly designed in a minimalist direction, while the soft interior materials and contrasting stitching create a high-end feel. Notably, the second row of seats is designed as independent business class seats, integrated with anti-motion sickness mode, a feature that first appeared on Buick's MPV line. Electric front seats, 3-zone independent air conditioning, 8-speaker sound system and improved noise-canceling cabin (thanks to double-glazed glass and new soundproofing materials) contribute to creating a relaxing space like a business class cabin.
Additionally, the new GL8 is equipped with upgraded voice recognition, remote air conditioning control, and side curtain airbags that cover the entire length of the cabin, increasing passenger safety. In addition, the third row of seats can be folded completely to expand the luggage compartment, which already has a flexible capacity of 521 to 1,650 liters. Buick equips the GL8 2026 with a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine, producing 233 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and maximum torque of 350 Nm from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. Combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission, the car is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in about 9.2 seconds, an impressive figure for an MPV weighing nearly 2 tons.
In particular, the rear suspension of the 2026 Buick GL8 has been upgraded from the traditional torsion bar type to a multi-link independent suspension, significantly improving the smoothness and handling of the vehicle body when cornering or moving at high speeds.
