This program is designed, developed, and taught by leading experts from the Research, Policy and Legal Consulting Department of the NCA and Vietnam Data Security Company (VNDS). Participants will receive in-depth training with up to 60% practical exercises, helping them overcome common difficulties and obstacles encountered in complying with legal regulations on personal data protection.
Recently, the leakage of personal data has reached alarming levels, with numerous incidents involving hundreds of millions of accounts and customer information being exposed by companies and organizations in Vietnam. The main causes of these incidents are the lack of data protection measures and procedures, coupled with lax control over the collection, processing, storage, and exploitation of information.
According to Decree 13/2023/ND-CP, among the measures and conditions to ensure the protection of personal data, businesses and organizations must appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO). The appointment of a DPO is crucial, helping businesses comply with legal regulations, enhance data security, and reduce the risk of leaks and cyberattacks. This also contributes to improving reputation and customer trust, affirming the commitment to protecting personal information, and minimizing financial risks from legal violations and administrative penalties.
To support and enhance the professional capacity of personnel responsible for personal data protection in organizations and businesses, the VnDPO program is optimally designed, combining theory and practice. It focuses on real-world scenarios, adheres to Vietnamese law, and aligns with global DPO personnel standards. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to analyze, process, and resolve administrative procedures, organize and implement policies and technical measures to ensure personal data protection within their respective organizations.
Mr. Dao Duc Trieu, Head of the Research and Policy and Legal Consulting Department of the National Cybersecurity Association, stated: "Practical training brings many important benefits to businesses and individuals. It helps trainees better master skills, improve their ability to respond quickly and accurately, and better comply with legal regulations on personal data protection."
The first training course in the VnDPO Training Program is expected to commence at the end of October 2024.
