Urban E First Edition launched - an electric motorbike priced at over 800 million VND, as expensive as a car.

Brabus, the German car tuning company famous for its high-torque V8 "monsters," has unexpectedly shifted its focus to electric motorcycles with its new product, the Urban E First Edition.

Brabus recently partnered with French motorcycle manufacturer DAB to launch three electric models: the DAB 1a Brabus, Brabus Urban E, and Brabus Urban E First Edition. All three are developed based on the DAB 1a platform and are aimed at urban mobility needs.

The standard DAB 1a Brabus features a minimalist design with a predominantly black color scheme, numerous exposed carbon fiber details, and an Alcantara seat. It uses a 7.1 kWh lithium-ion battery combined with a rear-mounted electric motor, delivering 31 horsepower and 395 Nm of torque. According to the manufacturer, the bike can reach a top speed of approximately 150 km/h and can be charged from 20-100% in about 3 hours using a standard household power outlet.

In its higher-end version, the Urban E boasts an upgraded engine with 37 horsepower and 475 Nm of torque. This model also features numerous carbon fiber details, engine cooling vents, and vertical LED daytime running lights.

The Urban E electric motorcycle features a supermoto-style handlebar and a range of technologies such as keyless ignition, multiple riding modes (Eco, Street, Sport, Nitrous, Reverse), adjustable suspension, and high-performance brakes from Brembo.

The most premium model is the limited-edition Urban E First Edition electric motorcycle. While retaining the features of the Urban E, it's exceptionally limited in quantity, offering four unique color options, with only 10 units of each color produced.

Despite its distinctive and highly personalized design, the price is a controversial factor. Specifically, the DAB 1a Brabus starts at 16,590 euros (equivalent to 19,500 USD, approximately 420 million VND).

The Urban E electric scooter model starts at 20,800 euros (equivalent to 24,400 USD, approximately 525 million VND) and finally the Urban E First Edition goes up to 32,500 euros (equivalent to 38,100 USD, approximately 820 million VND).

When compared, the price of the Urban E First Edition electric motorcycle approaches or even exceeds that of a new BMW S 1000 RR, a superbike boasting 215 horsepower and a host of cutting-edge technologies.

With its "exorbitantly high" price tag for the top-of-the-line version, many will argue that Brabus' Urban E First Edition electric motorcycle is more suited to customers who appreciate unique design and brand prestige, rather than those seeking pure performance.
