Reviewing the application of anti-evasion measures against trade defense with cane sugar

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued a Decision to review the application of anti-trade defense measures against some imported sugar cane products.

The Department of Trade Remedies (Ministry of Industry and Trade) has just issued a Decision to review the application of measures against evasion of trade defense measures on some sugar cane products (case code: AR01.AC02.AD13-AS01).

Previously, on August 3, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1989/QD-BCT on the results of the first review of the application of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures on some cane sugar products originating from the Kingdom of Thailand.

According to the Government 's regulations detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management on trade defense measures, within 60 days before the end of 1 year from the date of the official decision to apply anti-dumping measures or the latest decision on the results of the review of anti-dumping measures, relevant parties may submit a request for review.

The Trade Defense Department has received a review dossier from the Vietnam Sugarcane and Sugar Association, representing domestic manufacturing enterprises, requesting a review of measures to prevent evasion of trade defense measures for some sugarcane products.

Based on the review of the dossier submitted by the relevant parties in accordance with the provisions of law, on September 6, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 2386/QD-BCT on reviewing the application of measures against evasion of trade defense measures on some sugarcane products.

To ensure the interests of all organizations and individuals related to the case, organizations and individuals must register as related parties according to the Related Party Registration Form and send it to the Investigation Agency via the Trade Defense Online File Receiving System (TRAV ONLINE– https://online.trav.gov.vn) within 60 working days from the effective date of the decision to conduct the review.

The deadline for stakeholder registration is November 29, 2024.
