Reviewing preparations for the 6th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Quang Ninh Province

On August 7, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to evaluate the results of organizing the 2024 district-level ethnic minority congress and deploy preparations for the 6th Quang Ninh province ethnic minority congress in 2024.

The organization of the Congress of ethnic minorities at the district level has been directed by the Party Committee and local authorities. The Congress was organized solemnly and practically, creating an exciting atmosphere, a spirit of competition and pride among the people, especially the ethnic minority community. The delegates selected to attend are all typical representatives of ethnic minorities from all sectors and fields of social life, with many contributions from emulation movements in ethnic minority areas. The Congress has affirmed itself as a broad political activity of ethnic minorities, a message of trust of ethnic minorities in the Party and the government; demonstrating the determination to wholeheartedly realize the aspiration to build Quang Ninh increasingly rich, civilized and happy.

Also according to the report at the meeting, preparations for the organization of the Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities are being implemented on schedule; political reports, Congress resolutions, and speeches soliciting specific opinions from departments, branches, and localities will be completed in September 2024; program contents, scripts for propaganda, celebrations, arts, and emulation and rewards will be completed in August 2024.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Nghiem Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities is an important political event of 2024, requesting the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee to fully absorb the opinions of departments, branches and sectors to complete the political report, in which it is necessary to clearly demonstrate the implementation of Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU dated May 17, 2021 of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee "on sustainable socio -economic development associated with ensuring national defense and security in communes, villages and hamlets in ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island areas for the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, creating a breakthrough in socio-economic development in ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island areas; preserving and promoting ethnic minority cultural identities... At the same time, speed up the preparation work for the organization of the congress, and provide information about the Congress Provincial ethnic minority delegates at regular press conferences; organize an official press conference on the Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress in early November 2024; organize an exhibition of cultural items and OCOP products at the congress venue.
