Despite being assured of their place in the league, Dong A Thanh Hoa still entered the match with determination in their away match against Becamex Binh Duong in the final round of V.League 2024/25.
Coach Tomislav Steinbruckner fielded a strong lineup, with the return of goalkeeper Trinh Xuan Hoang in goal.
However, the solidity in defense was not enough to compensate for individual errors and lack of sharpness in finishing.

In the 36th minute, Tien Linh jumped high to head the ball to open the score for Binh Duong after an accurate cross.
In the second half, Dong A Thanh Hoa pushed up the squad, sending in young talent Ngoc My, who had just been called up to U22 Vietnam.
In the 54th minute, Van Thuan broke the offside trap to escape in a quick counter-attack but could not coordinate well with Ribamar to create a finishing situation.
Immediately after that, Binh Duong responded with a face-off from Check Timite but the foreign player's lob went too high.
The most regrettable thing happened in the 83rd minute, when Dong A Thanh Hoa was awarded a penalty after the ball touched a Binh Duong defender's hand in the penalty area.
On the 11m mark, Ribamar decided to take a Panenka kick with the intention of fooling the goalkeeper, but the ball hit the crossbar and bounced out. A valuable opportunity to equalize was missed, to the regret of the whole team.
Losing 0-1 in the end, Dong A Thanh Hoa ended the season in 8th place with 31 points.
Although it was not a bad season, the decline in form in the second half, especially the streak of 7 consecutive matches without a win, shows that there is still a lot of work to do if the Thanh team wants to return to the top race next season.
