Ready for the 2nd Fruit Picking Festival in Muong Bu Commune, Muong La

Following the success of the first Fruit Picking Festival in 2024, Muong Bu commune, Muong La district is preparing to organize the second Fruit Picking Festival in 2025 with the theme of Muong La Apple, scheduled to take place on January 16.

To prepare for the second Fruit Picking Festival, the People's Committee of Muong Bu commune has established working groups, assigned tasks to members to prepare content, script, and facilities for the festival; selected locations, teams, and participating gardeners. This year's Fruit Picking Festival was held at the Chon Village Cultural House, Muong Bu commune; the fruit picking, fruit tossing, and apple eating competitions were held at the apple garden of Mr. Lo Van Tieng's family.

Mr. LO VAN TIENG - Chon Village, Muong Bu Commune, Muong La, Son La : My family is very happy that the Organizing Committee chose my family's apple garden. Our garden has prepared to prune and clean the garden, no longer spraying biological pesticides, only watering so that tourists can safely visit and eat fruit.

Up to now, Muong Bu commune has basically completed preparations for the festival. The village's art troupe has also been mobilized to serve the logistics, celebrations, and environmental sanitation work... The festival takes place with a series of activities such as apple picking competition, apple eating competition, display competition, introduction and learning about apple knowledge... Thereby promoting and introducing Muong La apple products; honoring apple growers; creating opportunities for people to learn and improve their knowledge and experience in apple growing; creating valuable products from apples.

Mr. LO VAN QUY - Vice Chairman of Muong Bu Commune People's Committee, Muong La, Son La: The commune has completed the preparation and planning work, selected the garden location, selected the cooperatives and gardeners to participate in this contest. Up to now, the commune has selected Mr. Tieng's garden in Chon village, Muong Bu commune. The ceremony will be held at the cultural house, the fruit picking competition will be held at Mr. Tieng's garden in Chon village.

Muong Bu commune currently has over 1,700 hectares of fruit trees of all kinds, including 64 hectares of apples, with a harvest yield of over 600 tons of fruit. Muong Bu apples are considered one of the main crops, bringing high economic value to farmers. The fruit picking festival is held when apples are in the main harvest season, which is an opportunity to attract investment and link business cooperation between enterprises, cooperatives and apple growers.

Ms. LEO THI CHOM - Chon Village, Muong Bu Commune, Muong La, Son La : I am very happy and excited when the Fruit Picking Festival is held in Chon Village. The women are focusing on cleaning the environment and practicing performances to serve the Festival. Through the Festival, we hope that the agricultural products of the people will be consumed more easily.

Mr. LO VAN QUY - Vice Chairman of Muong Bu Commune People's Committee, Muong La, Son La: Muong Bu Commune wants to convey a message: Muong Bu has been able to grow apples, wants to introduce the apple products of the people to the market inside and outside the province to know about Muong Bu's big apples so that the people have a sustainable income.

The second Muong La apple picking festival promises to bring interesting experiences to the people and visitors. Through the festival, we will promote connections, product consumption, and increase the economic value of apple trees. /.
