(HNMO) - On the afternoon of June 13, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Construction held a press conference to inform about the direction and operation of the first 6 months of 2023. The Ministry estimated that the production and consumption of some key construction materials in the first 6 months of 2023 basically decreased compared to the same period in 2022.
Specifically, cement production output reached 39 million tons, down 7%; consumption reached 43 million tons, down 10%. Of which, domestic cement consumption reached 29 million tons, down 8%; cement and clinker product exports reached 14 million tons, down 15% over the same period in 2022.
Ceramic tile production output reached about 191 million m2, down about 10%; consumption output was about 193 million m2, down about 10% compared to the same period in 2022.
Regarding the results of implementing some targets of the Construction sector, the Ministry of Construction said that in the first 6 months of 2023, the national urbanization rate is estimated to reach over 41.7% (up 0.7% over the same period in 2022); the proportion of urban residents supplied with clean water through the centralized water supply system reached 95.1% (up 2%); the rate of clean water loss decreased to 16.3% (down 0.5%); the rate of total collected wastewater reached 16.3% (up 1.3%).
Regarding the implementation of the public investment plan using state budget capital, the Ministry of Construction said that the total public investment capital assigned to the Ministry of Construction in 2023 is VND 767.45 billion. The estimated cumulative capital payment from the beginning of 2023 to the end of the reporting month is VND 41.16 billion/VND 477.51 billion; reaching 8.6% of the capital plan assigned by the Ministry. Of which, the disbursement of the capital plan in 2023 is VND 33.16 billion/VND 286 billion, reaching 11.6% of the plan.
In the last 6 months of 2023, the Ministry of Construction will set the task of building and perfecting legal institutions and organizing law enforcement according to the assigned programs and plans, focusing on the Housing Law and the Real Estate Business Law to be submitted to the National Assembly for approval at the 6th session. At the same time, urgently develop the Law on Urban and Rural Planning Management to be submitted to the National Assembly at the 7th session in 2024...
