The glorious spirit of April 30th shines brightly forever.

Amidst the fervent atmosphere of the Spring 1975 General Offensive and Uprising, under the wise leadership of the Party, the provincial armed forces, as the core force, advanced alongside the people to liberate their homeland. The enduring value of the victory of April 30, 1975, remains intact, becoming a source of faith and motivation for the Provincial Military Party Committee to continue innovating, building a clean and strong Party organization, and leading the armed forces to successfully complete their tasks in the new situation.

From historic victory to a driving force for innovation.

Fifty-one years ago, in those historic April days, with the spirit of "One day equals twenty years," the Party Committee, the army, and the people of the province made strenuous efforts and were determined to seize the opportunity to liberate their homeland. Under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the armed forces proactively grasped the situation, urgently developed combat plans, and quickly expanded their forces to 18 battalions (including 12 battalions from Ca Mau province and 6 battalions from Bac Lieu province) along with supporting units.

Acting on orders from the Military Region, the General Offensive on Ca Mau and Bac Lieu towns began on the night of April 29, 1975. The attacking forces coordinated closely with the mass uprising, resolutely aiming to seize the identified targets.

At 9:30 AM on April 30, 1975, the enemy in Bac Lieu declared surrender, handing over power to the revolution. In Ca Mau town, despite heavy losses and the fragmentation of their forces, some enemy commanders stubbornly held their ground. However, faced with the overwhelming offensive of our army and people, by 7:00 AM on May 1, 1975, all enemy troops surrendered, and the offensive to liberate the province was a complete victory.

This victory contributed to the overall success of the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, liberating the South, unifying the country, and ushering in an era of national independence and socialism; it also affirmed the role and contributions of the Ca Mau armed forces in the revolutionary cause.

The decisive factor in the victory of the Ca Mau armed forces in the great Spring Offensive of 1975 was their absolute trust and loyalty to the Party's leadership. This fostered a tradition of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, unity, resourcefulness, creativity, and the determination to overcome all hardships and sacrifices, ultimately achieving the highest goal: liberating the homeland and unifying the country.

Strengthening national defense to meet the requirements of protecting the homeland in the new situation.

Inheriting and developing the valuable lessons and experiences of the resistance war period, the Provincial Military Party Committee has continuously reformed, rectified, and built itself to be increasingly clean and strong. The entire Party Committee focuses on thoroughly and effectively implementing the Resolutions and Conclusions of the 4th Central Committee Conferences (11th, 12th, and 13th terms) in conjunction with studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh; implementing Resolution 847 of the Central Military Commission on promoting the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers," resolutely combating individualism... Through this, the leadership capacity and combat strength of Party committees and organizations at all levels have been enhanced; democracy has been promoted, discipline and order have been tightened; manifestations of degradation, "self-evolution," and "self-transformation" have been prevented; and the exemplary role of cadres and Party members, especially leaders, has been promoted, becoming the leading core of each agency and unit.

With a proactive and decisive spirit, the Provincial Military Party Committee has focused on leading and implementing comprehensive solutions to firmly protect the Party's ideological foundation and combat false and hostile viewpoints on the internet. Public opinion guidance has been intensified, with hundreds of news articles and posts published and shared by officers and soldiers to disseminate the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, the State's policies and laws, military and national defense activities, border defense, and combating IUU (Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated) fishing. This has created "resistance" against harmful and toxic information, strengthening the people's trust in the Party's leadership.

In implementing the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission's policy on local military organization when establishing a two-tiered local government, personnel work has been conducted democratically, rigorously, and scientifically. To date, the standing forces at the commune-level Military Command Boards have been basically fully organized and deployed; 100% of commanders have been appointed to participate in the executive committee and standing committee of the commune-level Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. Through this, the role of advising on military and national defense tasks at the grassroots level has been enhanced; military potential in the defense zone has been strengthened, and the all-people national defense posture continues to be firmly consolidated.

In addition to its core role in building a national defense system, the Provincial Military Party Committee always pays attention to the material and spiritual well-being of policy beneficiaries and meritorious individuals; at the same time, it is a pioneer in mass mobilization work and participates in building local political foundations. Many practical activities have been implemented such as: "Military-Civilian Tet," "Border Guard Spring - Warming the Hearts of the People," field exercises, etc. The image of dedicated and responsible soldiers in supporting the people in overcoming natural disasters, search and rescue, and disease prevention and control shines brightly with the qualities of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers." This is a prominent mark in the leadership of the Provincial Military Party Committee, creating a favorable environment to promote local socio-economic development.

In response to the demands of building the army and defending the Fatherland in the new situation, the Party Committee and armed forces of Ca Mau province continue to uphold the revolutionary traditions of the Party Committee, the army, and the people of Ca Mau; deeply practice the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers," the spirit of "2 steadfast, 2 strong, 2 preventive," and the motto of "5 firm" as directed by General Secretary and President To Lam. They are determined to build a clean, strong, exemplary, and outstanding Provincial Military Party Committee; successfully complete military, national defense, and border defense tasks; consolidate the all-people national defense and a solid defense zone, creating a foundation for Ca Mau's development in the new phase.
