The Denver Nuggets announced that star Aaron Gordon will be sidelined for an extended period after being bitten by a dog on Christmas Day (December 24th). He was hospitalized with multiple serious injuries to his face and dominant hand.
Doctors had to stitch up the NBA star's wounds with 21 stitches. As of yesterday (December 27), Reuters reported that Aaron Gordon is in good health.

Averaging 13.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, Aaron Gordon has been a key member of the Denver Nuggets for several seasons. In the recent Christmas Day series, Gordon shone brightly, helping the reigning NBA champions defeat the Golden State Warriors.
Immediately after this game, Denver's leading scorer suffered an injury. The club stated that they are not in a hurry to rush Aaron Gordon back and will allow the 28-year-old forward to rest until he feels fully healthy, both physically and mentally.
"We're not going to put pressure on him. The Denver Nuggets just need a fully fit Aaron Gordon. Not everyone can recover quickly from shocks like this. We hope he can regain his spirits soon," Coach Michael Malone said in a press interview.
Meanwhile, Gordon's teammate Kentavious Caldwell-Pope said: “On behalf of the whole team, I send my condolences to him. I know Aaron Gordon is really upset after this incident. I will try to get in touch with him to encourage him during this difficult time.”
Gordon had previously shown off his Rottweiler dog to his fans on several occasions. This breed originates from Germany and was originally used for herding livestock. However, if not properly trained, they can become aggressive.
