Authorities put up warning signs in landslide areas.
According to information from the Department of Environment and Forestry of Long An province, from the beginning of 2025 to now, there have been 7 landslides on river banks, canals and ditches in the districts of Can Giuoc, Tan Thanh, Thanh Hoa with a total length of more than 2.2km.
The landslides damaged many buildings and houses of dozens of households and affected the structure of many rural roads . The total damage caused by the landslides is estimated at more than 11.7 billion VND.
Currently, entering the rainy season, landslides are forecast to continue along river banks, canals, and ditches, and are at risk of causing major impacts on buildings and houses. To minimize damage caused by landslides, the provincial Department of Environment and Forestry requires localities to closely monitor weather and water levels; regularly check dyke lines to promptly detect and handle landslides.
In addition, arrange forces and means to promptly overcome the consequences caused by landslides; propagate and mobilize people to limit construction in areas at risk of landslides./.
